ok simple terms
the most compenly used bitrate for a WMV video is 3MB. this will give you pretty nice quality but the linger the video the bigger the files size gets.
MP4 on the other hand renders the video to that same quality as the WMV would be BUT with around 1.5-2mbs in file size smaller then the wmv would be (thats for about 10 secs)
and if you were to make the video MP4 to have the same end file size as a 3mb wmv render the quality would be about as goos as a 4mb-5mb WMV render of the video.
