UPDATE - Ok guys problem solved. Turns out I had to delete my corrupted profile only and then do the recovery and it worked. And also deleting the corrupted profile didn't effect any of my previous saved files so PHEW!!!!
Sorry for the massive freak out. I had a long stressful day and then I've never heard of this happen out of the blue before so I jumped to the worst possible conclusion. Halleluyah, my Oblivion and Vegas characters are still alive! ^_^
