I usually end up kinda of "snaking" as well, the only time that I differ from my original strategy is right after you hit level 10, I incorporate big figure eights into my gameplay, not every pass but every few waves, also when the pink spawners are coming from all four corners, I end up cutting upwards though the middle then back to counter-clockwise. The game is a lot of fun but can easily become deadly addictive.
