Corporal moves come when the bar over one of your characters is full. It gets full by you being damaged and you dealing damage(i think there are other factors too).

The tree did paralyze everybody on my team except Jiro(healer). I customized him so he wouldnt be affected by most status attacks. Then used him to cure everyone else.
