My First Sig Ever

I got Fireworks (for those of you who don't know, it's a program equivalent to PS) today and this is my first sig ever.

I was basically just exploring the effects and all that, I didn't focus much on the text. I would appreciate it if some people just gave me a few tips to get me started.

ummm not bad for first better than my first. When your going to resize your render click on the picture than hold shift. Lighting could use some work, background is plain, and dont make such a thick border next time.
Also when your going to make a border hold shift. So it could go straight, if you need some tips get aim or msn. Well I don`t really know how to work with that program.

Thanks a lot Henri, I didn't know about any of that Shift stuff, I'll try that now. Fireworks is pretty much exactly like PS, same tools, just located differently. And I'll AIM you if I need anything else, thanks for the help man.

the black n white doesnt look good with that pic IMO

that is actually pretty nice looking man.The picture is kind of unproportioned but other than that the bg looks really cool.I even think the thick border goes well with the black and white.Also I would try and fill some of the empty spaces with something.Best thing for you to do would be search for some tuts that use the same program as you.

Yeah, that's what I have been doing. I'm thinking about just downloading PS because it's hard to find tuts with Fireworks, most people use PS apparently, lol.

Also thanks for the feedback, I'm going to go back and try to fix it.

Anyways, nice sig for a first, the only thing I don't like is the border.
