Watch this video, but while watching, learn from it, I believe this pretty much 100%, but now, I'm not saying there is no god, maybe god intended for evolution to happen, anyway take a gander, religious debates are usually fun, because I always go away not really caring
Yay for 9th grade Biology! I know what he's talking about because of it. Dude, he's so right. So technically, the humans are a mutated chimpanzee, as we have a pair of chromosomes that are fused.
I'm going to look up what chromosome #2 does later, unless someone who's a biology buff knows already. If it's something to do with our brain, than we know why we are so much more advanced than the primates.
Yeah, I'm a creationist. But I agree with you, Snix, on the fact that evolution is entirely possible doesn't mean that a God intended it to be that way. A big thing about the Bible is that time was always abstracted so when it says in Genesis "God created man in 3hrs, 15mins and 2 cartons of beer", that 3 hours could've actually been 3 million years or even even way before the Forerunners even built giant gay rings!
Well, since I'm too lazy to re write this, I'll post my thoughts from the last god thread...
I really do not believe god to be real. There is no hard evidence of him every existing. Science cannot prove a belief IMO, it can only bring us closer to an answer, whether that be that there is a god, or not.
I believe god to be nothing more than a thought, a strong thought which people only choose to believe because they will be promised eternal happiness, apparently, AKA Heaven. Since this god will give you eternal happiness, why not believe in it?
I believe religious people are foolish in a way to think they were "put" here on earth, after "it" created earth too. I think they are also foolish to let a belief control their life to the extent that they will spend time on a daily basis toward this imaginary figure. AKA Prayers.
I believe this thought to be nothing more than a popular imagine put in peoples minds by our past, only to give them hope in the "after life".
And I'll leave you with this quote:
"Reading, after a certain age, diverts the mind too much from its creative pursuits. Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking."
-Albert Einstein
Just because evolution is possible doesnt meen it is how we got here. It is possible God created us with the ability to evolve.
No but this along with many other facts just provide more justification to the theory that we are evolved primapes, and that god did not create "adam and eve" and all that jazz...
IMO if you can believe that time has parallel dimensions and strings then why can't there be a spiritual realm? Spirituality is speculative science IMO. Just too many people are "God is good and he will save the day with his magical faithpowers" and not looking at spirituality with a scientific approach. For example the universe. Imagine trying to explain the universe, black holes and cloud nebulas as fact to an ancient scientists. They can't comprehend it as fact because it was completely out of their known existance (and I'm not talking about just looking at the twinkly lights in the sky). Just because someone in particular has not experience any spiritual phenomena, it doesn't mean the spritual dimension doesn't exist. Vice versa too but the point is, to keep an open mind.
