That was ridiculous. Do you know how many Goths cut themselves, wear tight black clothing with long black hair?

The stupid thing is most kids like that start out with great lives, but they want to stand out in the crowd, to get attention. The cutting part confused me a lot because, it's not only "emo" kids that cut themselves. And true depressive people don't cut their wrists, they cut their thighs, where no one can see it. Yeah, I have had a few actual bi-polar friends, it's hard to see them go through everything.

this is fucking ridiculous emo is just for attention whores so that kids will notice them. But stereotyping music and looks into the culture is the biggest bull shit of all. I am obsessed with metal and i wear black I'm not goth it just happens that lot of Megadeth Pantera and Iron Maiden shirts are black, does that make me "emo" haha no. As for music kids misinterpret the lyrics too, Three Days Grace! come on guys they've been hard rock since they started with their self titled album, as for the whole depressing lyrics in general look up ANY band and you will find at least one depressed no matter how the bad is expressing it they do often exhibit signs of pain, and depression, its a natural human emotion. You wanna know why the kid showed his scars? It's cause he's an attention whore, probably doing it over some girl, an ex friend of mine once lost the girl he love to me and tried to do whatever he could to get her attention away from me, thats where the cutting comes from, mainly over lost lovers it gets their attention and they give them sympathy just like they want. I wouldn't use the term "emo" because the meaning of that word has been misconstrued through the constant tabloids and teen fads. Originally the term emo meant emotive, which is a style of guitar playing. It got changed around and now it means "emotional" which is a bunch of bull shit. These kids are nothing but whinny little bitches. The only kids that are in fact "emo" are the kids who obviously pose and broadcast their emotions to everyone for attention. these are the kids that bring meaning to today stereotype. But stereotyping music into it, well thats just fucked up music is not a lifestyle unless kids feel like trying to fit in. Some people actually have mental problems, that force them to cause physical pain to themselves, my neighbor who's schizophrenic he looks like any other kid but he keeps all his emotions inside, he has a mental problem where because he sees and hears what he does it causes him to do bad things to himself. Oh and trust me he didn't tell a soul, he didn't do any of that shit for attention his mom caught him on day in the bathroom. He's in a mental rehabilitation center now and he's stopped doing it and stopped the want to do it, through therapy. No one knew about this around my neighborhood until his mom spilled the beans to some local moms. Now its all over the place. He didn't do this for attention he's not emo he has problems, and didn't refer to trends. There is so many stereotypes in this world when it comes to pop culture that all of this shit should just be ignored. Fuck i hate the term "emo" and every kid who tries to promote him/her self as "emo". Because the truth is if you look somewhere in their life, something happened that differed attention away from them, and now they want it back.

I know where Killer is coming from. Any bands and artists today have signs of depression. Hell, if you classify emo as a type of music, then I guess even Bon Jovi was emo. Also, my old friend, is bi-polar and always had depression problems. She would cut herself and cry a lot. If anything made her remember an ex-boyfriend, or something sad in her life, she would just cry on the spot. Yet, she was into the whole "emo" trend look. She dressed like a typical girl, she was so cute too. It's just sad how people now are portraying emo as what it is today.
