Does Videos Games Affect School?

So i was just thinking while i was in the shower, and i was thinkin if really does affect us. IMO i dont think it does. Well just in 2 ways one is that u stay up late and u cant pay attention in class and u dont pay attention to homework or dont do it...

Yes it becomes a problem when all you want to do is play games all the time, youll begin to stop paying attention in school, become non-social, and you just have no drive for anything. My parents put a rule that I cant play during the week during school until I graduate next year./

Yes, unless u can handle it. I went thru this with H2, staying up later then I should and skipping homework to play, which in the long run affected me greatly. I will never go thru that again.

Yes, it does.

It's just to addicting to not think about it after you've put in some decent hours on the weekend. You just want to keep playing more.

Somewhat like Luck's rule, I can only play on the weekdays IF I finish all my homework before 9.

IMO it all comes down self control. If you can restrain yourself from the video games and focus on whats important then your fine. But if you cannot control your urge. Well then your going to have some trouble most likely.

my parents have the same rule as luck.

but now adays i dont even play on weekends cuz i have so much shit going on. Junior year is one hell of a year.

I actually just noticed that problem today.

Here's the scenario: Most of my homework isnt graded or even checked, but if you do it, it will help you greatly contribute to the class and you have a grasp on what is going on. So really its all about responsibility. Today I did some of the the hmwrk, but then I really had an urge to play SR, so I skipped all the rest. I realized this problem right before I put Saints Row in, but still ignored it.

Well, I have kind of gotten fed up cuz my Lit teacher will make us read a story in our book then write a few compare/contrast paragraphs, and then he wont even mention collecting/checking them the next day. We don't even discuss them. So it is really not an incentive to do you homework, especially if there is no penalty whatsoever for not doing it. But thats just my lit class.

Now, back to the original question, I believe it does and doesn't. It is all about self control. I have one friend who is completely affected due to his addiction to video games and another friend who has more self control and still balances his time and gaming.
