Default Video Game Review Thread

This is MY opinions on these games do not make comments arguing on of my views.

Perfect Dark Zero

GamePlay

For the most part the game handles very well. When you first start out it may take a little while to get the hand of the controls but once you get used to them it is very easy. All the guns feature not only regular fire but a secondary fire(most of which are very creative), which adds more ways to kill your opponents. As well only being able to carry a certain amount of guns adds stratagy to the game and allows for many interesting combinations of guns. The new roll feature also add a twist to the game allowing you to escape from situations and dodge fire. Also the gadgets return and are used very well. In both campaign and multiplayer the gadgets can be used. All in all the gamplay of PDZ holds up well in both campaign and multiplayer, providing for a great experience.

Campaign

The story of perfect dark is at the most weak, however the features added to the game highly make up for it. Beign able to not only play split screen co-op, but also co-op over live add for a lot of fun and replay value. The co-op is not your traditional co-op either. Instead of just having both players run through the map together, player two is placed somewhere else on the map, making teamwork that much more important. Also as you play through the campaign yo will unlock more and more guns which also add replay value to the game.
Overall the campaign is good alone but even better with two. Weak story but everything else makes up for it.

Graphics

This is the reason you buy this game. The graphics of perfect dark are absolutly amazing. Playing on regular tvs the graphics are great but taking it to the H.D level blew me away. Not only are the graphics great but also the sound is very well done. Each gun has its own unique sound and each is done perfectly. The explosions and cut scenes are amazing. In conclusion, if you but this game go out of your way to play it on HD it is amazing, if you cant you will stil be amazed by how well the graphics are.

Multiplayer

The best part of the game. So many different gametypes and each is great. Every gametype brings out a different skill, whether it be stealth, assault or anything else. Customizations are great as well with many different guns to chose from. As well there are bots with differnt skill levels so you can practice when there is no one else. Imo nothing is better than playing this game online with a lot of people. With so many guns and different gametypes you will never have and excuse for being bored while playing. Multiplayer is definitly one of the best features of this game and it ranks up their as the most fun.

Over all score

All in all PDZ hold its own. With great graphics and sound, a pretty decent story line, and amazing multiplayer I reccommend this game to anyone with a 360.

Elder Scrolls IV OBLIVION

Gameplay
Oblivion is not your traditional rpg, the series has always been about the first person view and oblivion does it the best out of them all. The game itself is amazing. There are a lot of differnt fields of expertice to choose from. You can be anything from a mage to a thief, the possibilities are endless. There are a wide varity of skills that grow according to what type of character you are. If you are a thief obviously your sneak skill will be most important. The combat system is also another plus. There are so many different ways to approach a battle which offers variety and with there being so many different ways to play the game the replay value scores a 10.

Campaign/Quests

There is no real campaign to oblivion but rather a main questline. The story is something differnet and follows its way into parts of the game beyond just the main quest. The main quest does not take too long to beat no never did i say it was short. It may be a little repetative but it is fun nonetheless. The reason that oblivion is so great however is because of the almost unlimited number of quests there are. Within the game there are guilds of many different trades: Thieves, mages, fighters, and the Dark Brotherhood(assassin). Each guild focuses on different skills and helps to develop the character. There are over 200 quests to choose from in the game so there will almost always be something to do.

Graphics

The graphics of oblivion are absolutly amazing. Watching the sun set in the game almost looks real. The seasons change and the weather accordingly. Every part of the enviroment is detailed and the characters are as well. The dungeons look fantastic and the creatures the swell in them do as well. Here is a video just to show how great these graphics are.

Overall Score

My favorite game for the 360 to date. If you own a 360 you have no excuse for not having this game
9.5/10

GRAW

Campaign

Probably the best part of the the game is the campaign. The story is interesting and the levels are great. You will see a variety of different situations during the game in which you will need different guns and skills to proceed. Another great feature is the use of your "team". Although their A.I is poor it is still fun to move them around and have them give support. There are many epic battles that go one during the game and the thing that is great about Graw is that it throws you in the middle of them and actually makes you feel like you are fighting. The campaign may be difficult at times but it is fun and rewarding.

Gameplay

The gameplay of graw was something new for me. NEver had I played a video game where you died in 3 shots or less. This feature adds to the realism of the experience, drawing you into the game and making you feel like an actual solider. There is a wide variety of guns with many differnet means of shooting. For the most part this is a slow paced game that requires skill and patience. If you are a shoot first ask questions later type person this game is not for you. No other game really compares to graw in the sense of making it an experience and that earns the game some points.

Multiplayer

The game offers a unique multiplayer experience that is very fun at times. Although i did not love the multiplayer i felt that it had some good features. Fist of all the deatails that went into each level are great. The levels are all very well made and offer different experiences. The only down side to the multiplayer is the there is a lot of spawn killing. Because there are fixed spawns people tend to camp just far away back as not to be seen but close enough to kill you when you spawn. Again another problem i had with the game is that you die to quickly. Altough many people may find that fun and challanging i do not.

Graphics

The graphics of graw are great. The detail of each character is very well done as well as the enviroments you are in. The cut scences are top notch and just the over all look of the game is fantastic. The graphics really stand out in the explosions and big battles that constantly are going on throughout the campaign. No where do the graphics faulter nor the sound.

Overall Score

Over all graw is a game based around the campaign. The game is worth a rent but not a buy imo. The multiplayer is good but not fantastic and now a days in such a competative gaming world the multiplayer needs to be great.
