|  Heart Murmur?
Well my 8 year old sister went to get her physical today, and on her status it said she had heart murmur.
Well i was wondering if anybody knows what that is?
and what are the effects of it? |

It depends, it ranges from fatal, to painful, to just minor.
I have it too actually, like it hurts every once in a while.
Especially when I'm working out and it happens.
What it is, is your heart skips a beat.

i wish your sister the best of luck. sometimes murmurs can be nothing and other times they can be fatal. hopefully it wont be the latter. let us know how it turns out.

I have a heart murmur. It just means that your heart doesn't beat consistently with each beat being the same amount of time until the next. It sort of skips a beat and then does 2 closer together if that makes sense. There haven't been any effects for me at all, I mean it's not something I notice or feel or anything. | |

I get them. I also have a leak in my heart, aswell as a long list of respiratory problems. To be honest, it's not hard living with them. I don't think it'll be hard for your sister either. | |

Every now and then, I have these REALLY sharp pains in my chest, right where my heart is, and I was wondering if I should get it checked out.. but it only happens every now and then...

well i hope ur sister is ok...like cater said...it can be fatal, or nothing at all, i have had a very small one since i was a child...and it has never bothered me at all.
