ATTENTION: I tried very hard not to give any spoilers away. So as I re-read this I am making sure that I didn't give anything extremely important away. Unless you consider a dance scene the biggest part of the movie *Rolls eyes*

Story: 6.5/10 The story in the sequel to the more recent Fantastic 4 movie is simply in it's Title; "Rise of the Silver Surfer". It follows the purpose and creation of the infamous "Silver Surfer" and explains it in simple terms for the non-comic geeks. The story is explained quite-well and there isn't really any headscratching and pondering after you have walked out of the theater, which is good and bad in some cases. Good- because it gives those who love everything handed to them what they want. Bad- because those who like to think about the movie after they've seen it are frustrated because the movie won't have a lasting appeal. It's also nice that everything is falsely scientificly (sp?) explained (everything is explained in a way that makes you think that the event happened for a reason, but they don't explain it with real physics, but substitute it with their own physics and science.)

Acting: 8/10 This was a big surprise for me actually. If any of you have seen the last F4 movie know that the acting was one of the many reasons that it failed so badly to the critics. It was almost un-bearable how bad the cheesy lines were said by even the gorgeous Jessica Alba. This time around the producers really went all out on trying to improve the acting and make the movie more involving. The actors were convincing although not as good as in some other movies. There was really no part of it that drew me away from the story where I had to think "wow, that actor was lame".

Special Effects/Visuals: 8.5/10 This is a very hard review to write on terms of special effects. There was times that you thought that characters like Johnny Storm and The Silver Surfer were actually real, and could do crazy shit like that, but then there was times when the special effects were worse than anything I've ever seen. Example: Towards the end of the movie you see The Silver Surfer step on his "board" and the ripples and everything about him look so realistic that you don't even think about it being special effects. But then there is a dance scene with Mr. Fantastic where he's dancing and stretching out his limbs that looks so unbelievably realistic that it's almost sickening. On average I would say that the special effects were often better rather than worse, especially at the final boss fight.

Overall: 7.9/10 Through characters that are believable and effects that are amazing, and amazingly bad, the movie was pretty entertaining. I would recommend renting it instead of seeing it in the theaters, unless you are a die hard fan of Fantastic Four. If you loved the first movie, you'll fall in love all over again with this one, but if you hated the last one, then this one won't change your opinion much.

Good review man.

Just wondering though, why do unnecessary dance scenes keep showing up in super hero movies. Spiderman 3 had an entire section that looked like a Saturday Night Fever tribute and now this. Though I bet this one is more cool. All I have to say is that if I see Batman breakdancing or some crap like that in The Dark Knight there will be hell to pay.

I saw it at midnight on thursday. I thought it was amazing until the cheezy ending and lack of action. But the action they had in it was good. I liked it overall.

To try to add some humor into the movie, especially in the more light-hearted movies like Spiderman and Fantastic 4. Odds are it won't be in batman, and if it is, I will leave the theater haha.

well thank you for this review, I did not like the first one very much at all and so by your statement, I really won't like this one either. Maybe on DVD if somebody else has it, but I won't be seeing this now for sure. Thanks again

batman is supposed to be a DARK movie...thats why after Michael Keaton (some of u are probably too young to know who he is) left from being batman they went all cheezy and fell off......then Batman Begins came out and it was another DARK batman movie, just like it should be so the Dark Knight better not have any goofy comedy like in Spiderman or Fantastic 4, but rather some intellectual sarcastic comedy, especially with the Joker to be in the next one expect some sick diabolical humor as well. but all in all i loved F4 was awesome to watch, cant wait for Dark Knight though.

yeah batman returns right? before I saw batman begins I doubted that it would be better than batman returns because all the other batmans weren't that great. but they didn't disappoint me
