5.1 Surround Sound Systems

What are some good surround sound systems? Just wondering what you guys have. Did a search but nothing came up. Point me in the right direction so I don't waste my money.

i have a hitachi system and a panasonic system in my house both 5.1 and there basically the same apart from the panasonic system downstairs boes not have a optical input

klh R5100. i have about 1200 watts of power in my gaming room.

multiple composite inputs and outputs, optical inputs, 5.1 channel support, 6.1 channel support, digital coaxial inputs, and loads of other shit.

this receiver was top of the line back in the day, but since klh is almost bankrupt, the price has dropped tremendously.

I'm not allowed to "crank up" my system, so I just got a cheap $200 5.1 Surround Sound System that has 2 optical inputs. If you're just going for the surround sound effect, just make sure the system you're getting has at least 1 optical input.

Onkyo.

Seriously, it's the best bang you can get for your buck. Extremely high quality (even the lower range stuff) and they start at around $200.

I have an Onkyo 5.1 at my apartment, but I run Cerwin Vega towers at my parents house (yes, I left them there because they're a good 50 pounds a pop). The Vega's are around $1200ish.

we have some surround sound system still in the box because we have to finish the basement first but we might get around to installing it tomorrow. I'll let you know how it sounds and what kind it is
