Default *TUT*Capturing Using a 360 and Dazzle DVC 150.*TUT*

If you think this deserves a sticky please say so.

Lately I have been seeing a lot of posts on H2F asking how to Capture with the XBox 360. So I took the initiative to post a Tutorial on just how to do it.

Above is the image I will be using to show you how to Capture with a Dazzle DVC 150 using the Xbox 360. This is just one of the ways you can capture with a XBox 360. And this one is different, there is a certain requirement you must meet. This setup REQUIRES you to have a 4:3 Aspect Ratio TV that supports Component inputs. I have a Westinghouse, they're pretty cheap. And you must also know how to use your Dazzle DVC 150 and Pinnacle Studio 9.

So what we're going to do is plug the 3 Component inputs into our TV. Do not turn on the HDTV switch on the back of your 360. Now plug your Y cable into your Dazzle DVC 150's input. as well as the two audio cables. Now grab the two double sided male input audio cables(I hope that makes sense) that came with your Dazzle and plug that in the output jack of the 360. Now take the other end and plug it into the back of your TV. Start your 360 and load Pinnacle Studio 9 and Voila! You got yourself the ability to Capture with a XBox 360.

Good job man. What about for like ATI wonder pro??? Do you know how to do that? Because if you wanted sound and shit for ATI you needed a few splitters and this microsoft a/v pack that they dont make for 360. So i had to sell my capture card.

I think with a ATI all you need to do is get av splitters like you said. plug the 360's audio cable into one of the female jacks, then plug the male part of the splitter into the ATI. unless you need one of those things to convert into a sound input. whatever those are. then grab the two audio cables that came with the dazzle and just plug em in the final female inputs of the splitter. the other end into the TV. I think that should work.

Yea you needed the A/V pack for the sound. ATI is an internal capture card tho. So its not like dazzle.

Dude, it's a lot easier than that...here, let me try...

First off, you're going to be capturing in composite, because I seriously doubt anyone here has a Hi-Def capture device.

For the Dazzle 150, you run your yellow, red, and white composite cords into the "input" on the Dazzle 150. From there, you are going to need another set of composite cables. On the "output" post of the Dazzle 150, you will color code the 3 wires (yellow, red, and white) and run that set to your TV.

This way, you will be able to capture on the PC and play on the TV at the same time...and much easier than the above post...

The process is the same for a device without an output, but you must use Y-cables to split the composite cables coming out of the 360, so you can run 1 set to the TV, and the other to the capturing device.

If you need any more specifics, ask.

this is how i do it compenent to tv like u said and standard av cable yellow red and white to my vid cam set the 360 to standard def and then set ur 360 to widescreen 480 and u got widescreen t play on and cap with.

internal sound all u need is a cable/4 way splitter to plug red and white audio cables int the other ends t ur audio input n ur sound card and then ur tv or if ur using surround sound with a optical input(fibr ptic sound) u can use that for ur sound system/to play with and just plug the red and shite cables into ur pc

I know that 4ngel but for some people who have component inputs in the back of their TV, they don't need to go out and buy a Y cable for the TV. My setup is exactly the same as yours. just that i don't use a Y cable to play on my TV. I use my component inputs. It's not recording in HD, because it also outputs to the Y. This is what I use and it works perfectly fine. You don't need a HD Capture Device for this.

I never said you did...it's just easier to use input/output of the capture device...but i guess some still have cards with no out...which is shitty...
