Nintendo E3 Press Conference Discussion

Here we go again, I'll lay out highlights from the video here in bold, editing my first post. Discussion on what is going on can go inside.

"Playing = Believing" Mantra

Video shows guy drumming with controllers, another tennis match, another golf, another composing, another landing a car (wheel attachement too it seemed)

Mario footage looks great, shooter (Metroid) was very rigid it seemed to me, little party games using gimmicks shown, Sword fighting=pimp, Link using controller for everything from sword fighting to fishing.

All that in the intro vid.

Lol, guy seems almost pissed off in his presentation opening. Scary

"If we want to grow as an industry, This has to change" refering to the fact not everyone has played a game.

"The graveyard of any industry is filled with the companies who did things the same old way. This works for awhile, but eventually, it is fatal...."

4th quarter of 2006 release, "More game for less money"

On name: "We want to think everyone who said good things the first time you heard it. Both of you." ((Goes on to explain backstory lol))

Series of games shown, graphics not impressive at all, applause at sonic and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. Overall wasn't impressed with the look of the games.

Legend of Zelda "This is by far the best Zelda game we have ever made...and most beautiful. Also breaking precedent...first Zelda game to be there on launch day"

Demo of zelda game by developers. Controller used like a mouse of sorts, clicking for inventory and such, used to shoot bows and such as well. Speaker built into controller, uses audio hints at each bow level.

Can use remote to do sword swings, or press B button. Boomarang uses the motion sensor pointer as well, of course.

The guy almost died lmfao.

Magnet lifts link while he has the old Iron Boots on.

This game looks incredible, hands down. Simply amazing. Moving on.

Super Mario Galaxy showcases new moves using the controller. Metroid gets a short mention too.

Excite Truck showcases using the controller sideways as a means of controlling a car.

Disaster first good graphical game I've seen, not much on gameplay.

Hyper Sonic shown, another soft applause. Nothing on the gameplay, but says full control.

27 Wii games playable on show floor, wow.

Red Steel shown Demo starting now.A lot of controls using the hands, but it seemed real "Stiff" to me, not near as smooth at Zelda. Destructable environments, seemingly problems with camera. Red DEad Revolver style "Slow Aim" Cool sword fighting.

End Demo...Overall views: Looks decent, like modern PS2 titles, some interesting controls, but seemed rigid for a shooter.

DS montage...not going to cover the stuff on the DS because people here don't care for the most part. Only will post big statements.

DS Lite - Smaller, Brighter, Lighter. Old school mario game coming with a few new gimmicks

FF III for DS coming, 3D graphics.

Nintendo's goal=More people playing games. Non-gamers and former gamer balance needed reinvent the gamer to game relationship.

Anti-loading stance.

Crowd laughed at Nintendo Head saying Serious like Css

Conneceted 24 hours a day using WiiConnect24, using power of a lightbulb.

Wii Sports (Tennis, Golf, Baseball) launch title.

Hilarious tennis demo lmfao

Swedish dude who won contest paired with Morimoto dude, playing tennis doubles vs Nintendo heads. Looked retarded but somewhat fun lol

The end, no price announced unfortunately.

VIEWS: I generally hate Nintendo and I must say, that Zelda demo was very impressive. Fairy thing is a bit over the top though, IMHO, but the game mechanics were very amazing. They beat out Sony alone there.

They should have kept that demo for the end though, as it was the only one which I was immensely impressed with. Some of the concepts are interesting, but no detail was shown during this press conference. We'll see the impressions from the show room.

Zelda is definately a fore-runner for Best of Show awards though.
