Domino: glorified hollywood violence and action at its best. I saw one person complaining that there wasn't a single shot longer than like 5 seconds. true, but I didn't mind. It felt right. And you got to see topless keira knightly.
History of Violence: that movie is just messed up. I recommend people see it though. weirdest sex scenes to say the least... and the violence was very abrupt and didn't stay on the screen long, but it was memorable. good movie.
Lord of War: friggen amazing. I loved that movie a lot. the drunk ukrainian, bilbo baggins getting shot in the head, the gold plated ak-47... it was all just great. I loved the intro, I loved the narration... I dunno it was just great.
Roll Bounce: we went to it as a joke. a nice $5 joke. wow it was even more horrible than I expected. The guys who made it didnt know if they wanted to be funny and like self-satirical, or serious. thought there might be some cool roller-disco stuff, but there wasn't. you know, because skilled rollerskaters aren't in high supply in hollywood now. the story was ridiculously stupid, and like i said, they tried too hard in some places (the father son, dead mother crap). watch it, but be prepared to throw your drink at the screen like i did after.
Doom: I thought it was good. Got the point across, the Rock got to swear a bunch which was good, and it was nice and gory. I liked the first person bits and found the atmosphere felt like a video game the whole time (not just the first person). Definitly worth my money.
Saw II: Gory, not that scary. it was rather disturbing. Like my friend said tonight "I could've sat at home for half an hour thinking of the most disturbing things that could happen to me, and i would've had more satisfaction". Some you couldn't even imagine though. Decent movie though, not disappointed really. |
