Wow. I just went White Water Rafting today at the Lehigh Valley Gorge Park, and it was AMAZING.
We just went full-blast through these awesome rapids. It required SO much teamwork on the whole crew and much strength and concentration. If you don't keep a rhythm with your paddling, you'll lose velocity and most likely get stuck on a rock.
It was a blast. The rapids were quite fast today, so it was a challenge not to bump into rocks and tight passages. We also enjoyed some nice drops that absolutely SOAKED us. A few of us even fell off.
On the fastest current on the trip, we were going quite fast. It's really bumpy and we're zigzagging like crazy. We suddenly go onto this humongous drop and we drop like a 500-pound man cannon-balling into a pool. So I look back and I don't see anyone there (you usually have 1 person acting as the rudder in the back of the raft and the rest acting as the gasoline/engine.) So I do a double take. I look again, and my friend (John) isn't there. I look around quickly and I see John with this priceless surprised look on his face. We pulled him back in, but that face was GENUINE surprise. It was one of our highlights
We also got to have water fights. I really didn't care, seeing as I was already wet

I had brought a Gub anticipating some fun going to happen. So anyways, there's this big guy that's been white water rafting at Lehigh Valley for over 10 years so he knows what happens. So instead of bringing one 5 gallon water bucket, he brings 5. I'm like wtf. Anyways, he initiates a fight with the boat my g/f is on, and I'm like "hey gtfo nub". He totally destroys the living shit out of them. They are as wet as a pool! Anyways, I couldn't do anything and neither could my mates because we were ahead of them, and we decided that we wouldn't use the gub or attack unless we were attacked first.
But anyways, I knew I would get that fatso back sometime. So I got my chance. My mates and I silently rowed behind the fatso's raft. I initiated:
"Sir, I think there's something wrong with your raft." Little does he know, I have my gub pumped and ready. So he turns around. BAM!!! I shoot him right in the face! It was hilarious. Eventually, my classmates all flanked him and we succeeeded! Yay!
All kidding aside, I had a FUN time today. Even though some white water rafting places won't have this much fun, the rafting alone should spur you into trying it out. Don't be scared; you can go to a class I rapid if you're starting. I definately recommend white water rafting to EVERYONE; it is one of the most enjoyable and fun experiences EVER.
