| ** Dump Files from PC to 360 using Memory Card ** This is a tutorial that will teach you how to mod your memory unit, and how to upload game saves onto your Xbox, this is perfectly fine according to Microsofts policies so you won't get banned, though I do not take and responibility for your actions, this can't be used to get achievements on most games, some games you can but you need the game itself, so achievement boosters this won't help you much. Here we go. First section: Taking the MU apart. 1) First thing you must do is remove the metal piece that is on the bottom of the MU it should say "64MB" on it. To do this you must get something sharp that will fit under it to pry it off. It is only stuck on with some sticky material, it should come right off. I used a small flat screw driver (same thing my friend used).
2) Now this step is going to involve getting the casing off the MU, you will need a flat edged item to pry the edges apart. I used the same small flat screw driver from step 1, you might want to use a razor blade like in the picture below because it will not strip anything and muck up your MU, insert the razor blade into the edge like show in the picture. WARNING DO NOT CUT YOURSELF! 3) From there you will need to slowly move the razor blade up the edge, prying the edge apart slow and gentle. Do not force anything, do the same for the other side, the picture below will show you what it should look like at this point. DO NOT PULL THE MU APART! 4) Now turn the card over so that the side with the stickers on it is facing up, now slowly pull that slide away from the circuit board. Like shown below in the picture.
5) Using the razor blade (or what ever you used if you went with something else) cut around the card in the middle grove between the two side. Now the back of the card (the one with all the stickers on it) should come right off. WARNING: Do not try to remove the circuit board from the top side of the case (the side with the Xbox 360 on it)! YOU WILL BREAK THE CONNECTOR TO THE BOARD, TRACES AND ALL! This will make your card broken and useless. Leave that part alone there is no need to remove it anyway.
The MU should look like this at the end. Second section: Adding the USB connector to the MU. Here is the list of items you will need for this stage
- 5 wires (20g is good)
- Some soldering knowledge
-Dremmel, Zacto Knife, or other sharp cutting tool
- Super Glue or another material to hold something in place.
Here are some other items that are recommended
- Electrical
- Epoxy Putty
1) If you havn't done this already do this now, make sure the 5 wires you are going to use are about 7 inches or so long. Cut them down after if you want, its easier to keep them longer for this part anyway. After doing the strip the wires so that you have about 3mm or so of the actual wire showing, as shown in the pictures below. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
2) After you are done doing that with all 5 wires you are going to use, you are ready to solder them onto the 5 points on the Xbox 360 MU, below is the picture that had the red box around the points you need to solder the wires too. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
3) When the soldering is done you should have something like the pictures below. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
4) If you aren't so sure about your soldering job, you may want to put some electrical tape around the edges of the solder points just to be %100 the metal edges will not touch. You might also want to put some electraical tape on the wires to keep them in place on the circuit board. If you choose to do that have something that looks like the picture below. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
5) Before you put the casing back on it is recommended to just do one little test to make sure you didn't mess anything up when soldering and gurantee that your ready for the next step. Simply place the memory card into the Xbox and make sure the system recognizes it. If it does then the job is done and we can now put the casing back on to the MU.
Before we can do that, we need to cut some slot like holes for the wires. To do this take a dremmel (or another cutting tool) and cut out the little grooves and the part of the case you are going to put back on the MU, DO NOT CUT YOURSELF. After you cut the five slots for the five wires, you should have something similar to the picture below. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
6) Now you are ready to put the case back together, place the two pieces together so that they sit on on of one another just like they were before you took them apart. If you do not want a permanent bonb between the sides of the cases you can just wrap something around the two sides just to hold them in place, if you want a more solid bond, now is the time to get the super glue. Put some super glue on both sides of the MU where the two sides of the casing join, Make sure you hold it in place for a couple of minutes to make sure it is bonded, Once you are done you will have something that looks like the picture below. DO NOT SUPER GLUE IF YOU ARE NOT SURE YOU WANT IT. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
7) If you have extra glue dried on the card you may want to get that off, It is also a good idea if you have the time put some epoxy putty between the wires just or a little more strength to hold them at the exit that's what I did. This is not necessary but is a good idea, then you should have something like this. CLICK FOR PICTURE! Third section: Adding the USB adapter. Here is the list of items you will need
- Prepared MU-USB cable with the male end on it- Some soldering knowledge once againHere are some items that are recommended
-2 10ohm 1/2W Resistors-1 6pin Male Interlocking Connector-1 6pin Female Interlocking Connector1) First you must make sure that the USB cable is stripped. You will have to cut the cable at some point. I would recommend to leave atleast 3 inches or so of wire from the USB adapter to the point that you will see 4 similar wires inside the outer wiring casing, as well as a silver wire that is in a bunch of strands, covering the other 4 wires. Those silver wires are known as "the shield" and will be needed as well. Just bunch up the stands of the shield wire and twist them together to make "1 wire" pretty much.
2) Now you should have 5 seperate wires- black, white, red, green, and silver "the shield". Strip about 3mm of wire off of each of these wires (accept the shield since it has no coating around it). I recommend covering the exposed shield wire with electrical tape so that you don't have any lose wire, leaving about 3mm or so of the shield exposed at the tip.
3) Now we are ready to begin. Below is a picture of the pin layout of the inside of the MU. The color code corresponds to the colour of the USB wires that you just exposed from the USB cable. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
4) So with that in mind, below is a picture of the MU prepared that gives you each colour code of which wire is coming out of the MU corresponds to wich wire on the USB cable. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
5) Now if you want you can solder the wires coming out of the MU directly to the USB cable however it is not recommended you do that!, The reason is because for some odd reason, the Xbox 360 doesn't recognize the MU with the USB connector connected to it. Therefore it is recommended you use the optional connectors recommended for this tutorial. If you don' mind soldering/desoldering wires every time you wanr to transfer files from your PC to your MU to you Xbox 360, then go for it.
6) This brings up another recommnded item, the resistors. The USB voltage is 5v while the MU only is 3.3v. While is has been used for a couple of days without a resistor and had no problems using the 2 resistors it is strongly recommended for long tem usage! All you have to do is put the 2 resistors inline with the erd power wire on the USB cable. Below is a picture with the resistors inline with the red power cable of the USB. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
7) So now you are at the point where you have to wire up the MU to one connector and wire up the USB connector to the other connector. It doesn't matter which you do first. Fire we will do the MU card to the male connector.
8) At this point you will see the connector has 6 little prongs that comes with it. We only need 5. Make sure that the ends of the 5 wires are stripped a tiny bit as well. Now you can either crimp the wire to the metal prong, or solder it. I personally soldered them myself because it gives it more of a solid bond as long as you have a clean solder point. Once you have the wires on the prongs, you can palce them into the connector. I place the wire corresponding to the "Ground" wire into slot 1, the "Data+" into slot 2, the "Data-" into slot 3, the "Power" into slot 4, and the "Shield" into slot 5. Picture below of what it would look like now. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
9) Next wire up the USB connector to the female connector you just wire this one up in the same fashion, Simply wire each of the 5 wires to their own little metal prong. After that is done you then have to place them in the correcsponging slots of the connector. As before, I placed the "Ground" into slot 1, the "Data+" into slot 2, the "Data-" into slot 3, the "Power" into slot 4, and the "Shield" into slot 5. Once that is done, the USB connector should look like this in the picture below. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
You are now doen with this part of the project, the parts should look like this when seperate. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
Connected together, you new adapter should look like this in the picture below. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
Now we are done with that, it is now time to download the drivers so you can then start using you PC to upload files onto you MU. Fourth section: Installing the drivers for the USB connector. 1) Plug the USB end of the new adapter into a free slot on your PC. Windows will recognize the 2 new pieces of hardware. When it does that just cancel out of all the popups and go to the control panel. Once there open the Device Manager. Once in the Device Managaer, you will see a screen like the one below. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
2) Right Click on "Memory Unit" under the other devices section, and select "Update Driver" If you see the screen below, select "No, not at this time" and click Nect. If you don't see the screen below that's fine and proceed to the next step below. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
3) At the following screen, click on the radio button next to "Install from a list or Specific Location" and then click the next button. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
4) You will then proceed to the following screen where you click on the radio button labeled "Don't search I will choose the driver to install" and click on the Next button. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
5) Next choose the "Show All" option as seen below, and click on the Next button. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
6) At the next screen, choose "Compaible USB storage Device" from the left side, then select "USB Mass Storage Device" from the right side, as seen below. Click on Next ro proceed to the next step. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
7) An alert may come up and if it does, accept it and the drivers will then install, It only takes a bit. At this point you will then go back to the Device Manager. You will notice the MU is now gone from Other Devices, and no there is a new one, MSFT Memory Unit USB Device as seen on the screen below. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
8) As like before, right click on the MSFT Memory Unit USB Device and select "Update Driver" If you get the following screen, select "No, not this time" and click the Next button. If you do not see this screen, proceed to the next step. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
9) You will then see the following screen where you will select the radio button marked "Install from a list or specific location" and click on the Next button. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
10) This will bring to this fimialr screen, where you will then select the radio button marked "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install." and click the Next button. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
11) As like before, select "Show All Devices" from the list and clic the Next button,. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
12) You will then see the following screen where, from the left, you will select "(Standard disk drives)", then from the right you will select "Disk drive" and click on the Next button. CLICK FOR PICTURE!
13) An alert may pop up like before and just accept it if it does. It will then take a few seconds to install the drivers.
You are now done installing the drivers. To verify they are installed correctly, click on My Computer. You should see a new drive letter assigned to your MU. However, you will not be able to access the drive directly. If you double click it, it will ask you to format it. DO NOT FORMAT THE MU THROUGH YOUR PC! Now to access the MU and dump files into it, you will need Xplorer360. Downlod Xplorer360 HERE That is the end of the tutorial, I have yet to figure out how to get the Xplorer360 working my best advice would be to play around with it, it doesn't seem that hard to get it working.
This tutorial was made by me Snix, the pictures were taken from 360Gamesaves, I did not create how to do this, just this tutorial. Once again.I do not take any responsibility if you damage anything. You are %100 responsible for your actions in following this tutorial , and it is to be used at your own risk.

| Its not for getting points though, its for mainly getting out of tough games, or if you are stuck, get a game save, and if you wanted to risk getting banned you can get free arcade games, gamer pics, and themes
