Some of you may not know what im talking about here so i will fill you in. RE Extinction (formally known as RE after life) is the third RE movie that is planning to be released in SEPT of 2007. Here is a small run down of the story.

"Resident Evil: Extinction is set several years in the future and it's pretty much after the Umbrella Corporation has failed to control the outbreaks of the T-Virus and the world has literally been wiped out. There's very little humanity left and a handful of human survivors are traveling around the remnants of the world in these heavily armored convoys and what they do is they go to the least populated parts of the world, because they figure that's where the least undead will be, and they travel in these heavily armored trucks and customized rolling fortresses—it's very Road Warrior--at high speed so that the undead don't get anywhere near them. So that's where the movie takes place, primarily in the deserts of Nevada and around Las Vegas. But of course, it's a Las Vegas that has kind of fallen now, because what's happened is, with no one to take care of it, the desert has come back in and half-buried Vegas."

Thats all i can really find. Personally i loved the last two RE movies and i think they where just fine for video game movies. The story seems a tad bit iffy right now to me but maybe after i see a trailer it will appeal to me more. But either way im still really looking forward to this.

Ah, they changed the name? Hmm, didn't kno that, but ya the last two were awsome IMO, hopefully this will be the same. Best video game movie to date, right next to Mortal Kombat, can't beat that theme song, lol.

Nope at first you think she did but then at the very end of the movie her and that black dude pick up alice from umbrella and they enter the city then it ends. Jill is sexy though .

I'm wouldn't say I'm 'excited' about the new RE movie but I'm pretty interested. IMO the 1st RE movie was good in its own right (being a Game to movie adaptation) but RE2 sucked. Sure it was good for a laugh but I was rather dissappointed. I just found the dialogue was badly written, action scenes poorly choreographed (how does she get a Harley to jump 3 storeys high and then glide???), and overall story inconsistancy.
Now I'm one of those guys who loves cheezy sci-fi movies and all but theres a fine line between cheezy and sh!t.
For instance, there's that part when there's zombies in the classroom and the girl says "I'm scared" and Jill says "It's ok honey, they're slow. We can just run around them.".
Feck off! Tell that to the woman who was CHASED UP THE STAIRS BY ZOMBIES!!! Man, I get tired and trip over if I sprint up stairs but 10 "slowmoving" zombies somehow manage to run it like a marathon and not trip over themselves.

And then you know how in movies there's that tense part where somethings going to get the character and they're trying to reach something that'll save them but they can't quite reach? Well it goes without saying that you don't put this TWICE in the same movie but RE2 doesn't care. It does it twice AND manages to make Jill look stupid doing so. The first part where she's in the church and she's trying to reach the gun BUT SHE JUST CAN'T QUITE GET IT? WRONG! She CAN get it! There's nothing in the way! Those church chairs are high enough to crawl under and low enough to just step over. Is she THAT retarded?

And don't get me STARTED with the cheap scares. Half of the jumpy bits was when someone would be behind the main character and you think it's a monster and then GRAAARGHSNARL! AHHH! Oh phew. It was only that guy she's with. Well how come I jumped then? BECAUSE IN SCAREY SITUATIONS PEOPLE SOUND LIKE MONSTERS FOR NO APPARENT REASON!

And then there's that part where the directors said, "Ok how about we have an entire shot with a zombie looking retarded into his own reflection in a helmet." For a genetically altered undead killing machine he sure looks interested in his hair.

I loved the first movie but this one just seemed like a cheap sequel. It was the Mummy 2 for RE.

I'm serious. Watch Dawn of the Dead and THEN watch RE2 and THEN tell me, which one is better. In Dawn, you can understand why the world would get overrun with zombies, because they're pretty much unstoppable and fast. But in RE2 it seems pretty stupid that slow moving hunks of stupid can take over a city. And WTF is with Jill??? If you haven't played the game her entire character is pretty much unexplained. She's just a stupid hot chick that wears high heels when she's gotta kick ass.
NEWSFLASH!!! Women DON'T wear high heels in times of crisis! Why? Coz they're friggin painful!

I'm sorry for the rant. This movie just really hurt me. I died alittle on the inside... {:-(

But all constructive critisizm aside, RE3 sounds like it could redeem itself even in my eyes...

Im kinda excited for it. The first two were very good considering the budget and time they were filmed in. I dont think its a movie I would spend 8.50 to see, but definitely 3.00 wen it gets to the cheap seats.

dawn of the dead was very intense. it was great to actually see zombies running around instead of the slow walk. the only people that could ever get away with teh slow walk were jason vorhees and michael myers.

^I paid $12.00 to see RE2 so no. Their budget and time limitations are no excuse for bad script and directing.
Look at Saw. Low budget. Great directing and script.

I'm filing RE2 right next to Dreamcatcher and Bloodrayne...

Rustic i know dawn of the dead is better than RE 2 but it was still very good for a video game movie i thought. Nemesis owns all.

Dude im sorry but there is no way it was anywhere near as bad as bloodrayne.

b) IMO Doom was a good game to movie flick. RE2 had no suspence or atmosphere of the RE games so I thought it failed by my standards (or are my standards just too high???), the same as DOA the movie could've been completely orgasmic but they decided by their own wills to make a forcefully shit movie...

Ummm, yeah. You could be right... But still, for me they're in the same category (fecal films).
