| Thats actually a really imperssive breakthrough. In the future, if they ever do get it to work to the "Harry Potter" potential and it gets available, I can see the crime rate go through the roof. |

| Yeah, they'de probably only use it for military use or Scientist use only. Or they could just keep it to themselves if they do find out how to get this working, lol. That's the most logical stand-point. |

| I don't think it's an actual "cloak" as such. You wouldn't really be able to wear it easily. They specifically said they've successfuly cloaked a small object and are trying to cloak larger structures. Keyword: structures
Large objects that are immobile. To have a protective metal sheeting together with the machinery capable of distorting and bending particles and waves would result in something too big and dangerous to simply wear.
I'd really like to know how long ago this theory was thought up because I've got this book called "Ice Station" and it has almost word for word the same theory. Except in the book it takes it to a sinister level and the technology is built into an aircraft.
In the book it is depicted as using the same premise as a mirrage and reflects and bends light particles around the ship. Unfortuantely to get this 'mirage' to distort light COMPLETELY around the moving object it needs massive amounts of power so the ship uses uranium as the cloaks resource for power.
This is one of my favourite books and I know for a FACT that if ANYONE in the forums picks it up, they'll love it. It's an action/sci-fi without the lameness. Look for it. Ice Station by Matthew Rilley.

| If you think about it the technology will probablly be too expensive for people to buy ie thousands if they make one for a human, and there really isn't that many uses for it other than military and police operations i guess the only bad thing would be it would be easyer to escape from police and rob stores and such but for the common crook it will be too expencive to buy this kind of stuff. |

| I think this would lead to a VERY high increase in crime rate, everywhere. But if these things were like millions of dollars to get a hold of, it might not be so bad but all the richies could have a lot of fun with them, lol. |

It takes someone who is experienced at being a criminal to get ahold of this, and an experienced crimianl to use it. That is if it is fully functional on humans.

Then later finding that video on youtube? lol. |
