First off this is not about Brutal Vindication. This is about Tim Schafer's new game called Brutal Legend. With Jack Black as the main characters voice. Other news has been announced about this game which will be posted below. I must say this right now, this is gonna be a Metal Heads dream game!
Some Additional info: Besides the fact that Jack Black will be the lead characters voice some other voice talent included Lemmy from Motorhead as your bass player and healer, Rob Halford as the antagonist, and Ronny James Dio as an unannounced character, additionally there's gonna be original music from Zakk Wylde, Skold(?), Wolfmother, and Judas Priest.

Tim Schafer's new heavy metal opus arrives in strange packaging.

October 12, 2007 - Friday afternoon at IGN is often a time of peace in what is typically a loud and lively office. That's because most of us are hung over from Tequila Thursday (one shot per grammatical error). But this Friday was different. On this Friday, IGN received a mysterious package that roused the interest of the entire editorial staff.
The package (which was missing the sender information), was a mid-sized non-descript box delivered courtesy of Fed Ex. Inside was a portable turntable, a vinyl from "Riggs Records," and a poorly-Xeroxed flyer. The record was the single "Corpse of Hope" from the fictional band Tainted Coil. The flyer reads as follows:
"Since the beginning of time 'twas written in stone, that the mystery of The Age of Metal would surface from the unknown. As the recipient of the ancient tools within, you have the power to unlock this riddle with a simple spin.
"Rock must run through your veins, else solving this puzzle will be met with head pains. With primeval secrets at your fingertips, you possess the gift to propagate the fidelity from your mortal lips.
"Escape the clutches of convention and let yourself travel to another dimension. Find you destiny and protect your soul, but for now it is time to ROCK 'N ROLL!"
First thought: Tenacious D the videogame? The obvious "clue" in the statement suggests that there is a message hidden in the song. And sure enough, if you play the record backwards, you can hear a voice. But the quality is so poor that even recording the audio and messing with a sample couldn't produce a clear sound. But we did catch one beautiful snippet: "Maggots devour the corpse of hope."
With no clue what the hidden message might actually say, we called FedEx and learned the package was sent from Vivendi (AKA Sierra Games). This is the subtle announcement of Tim Schafer's new title, Brutal Legends (revealed in the latest issue of Game Informer). As the Game Informer article reports, Tenacious D's Jack Black stars in Schafer's new title. His character is named Riggs (a la Riggs Records).
No clues to the gameplay and no official release regarding the game were included with the packaging. One thing we can say for certain, there's already a stronger marketing push behind Schafer and Double Fine's new title than there was for Psychonauts.
