It's kind of like this:

The white bar is your shield, the inner-bar is your health. Guns deal damage to your shield and your health, simultaneously. The faded part is "shock damage," which means that you can gain that back. However, it's rare that, in a good firefight, you will get away unscathed. IE: If you take, out of 100, 20 damage... then you get into a new fight, and take 20 in shock damage, then get it back... you'll only be at 80, not at 100. So eventually, you WILL die. However, you CAN pick up new shields.

Thanks singular, I think this system is better because if you just bearly lose a firefight then spawn looking for the same person you have an advantage. Instead of hoping a teammate will finish him off, and if they dont then he gets away perfectly fine.

Sounds like a pretty good system. I really didnt mind the health packs in halo and in the 007 series. However I dont think thsi hurts the game either.
