| Based on his speed, I think Sonic definitely will be. He may be harder to control, but still...
I have no idea about ZS Samus yet. That's one I'll have to try (I like Samus, so I'll see her eventually). But her moveset seems decent, and her stats are decent as well from what I can tell.
My opinion of Snake is based largely on what I've seen in videos. But his moveset is still decent, imo. Has relatively high power it would seem, and some interesting opportunities for more advanced players.
I don't really think Olimar's going to be a joke at this point. I think he's gonna be alot like the Ice Climbers, in that, his moveset is unique and needs to be used in such a manner. I think he has real possibilities. Plus, his FS is more or less un-dodgeable, which is a decent advantage.

But its hard to see it he'll live up to the potential or not. I mean (going off the topic of new characters), some characters that are very low on the tier list could become kick ass juggernauts. For example, Yoshi. One time I was bored, so I decided to use him against Falco, Marth, and Ganondorf (Top-High tier characters, each Lv 9), and I just kicked ass. Now I'm assuming it'd be different if I was going up against actual people, but for doing that with Yoshi, it's impressive even though his moves SUCK.
And if anyone can find the most accurate Tier list, I'd appreciate it.

XD I've done that before too. I guess it just depends sometimes.
On yet another side note, has there been any discussion on creating 2-man team tourneys to MLG as opposed to just duels? I still think that would be alot more fun and entertaining.

Falcon just punches them to death). Nearly unescapable if the opponent's partner is dead.
I just want to get it for the multiplayer and see how "good" kids say they are at it. But I haven't played Smash Bros. in a year or so, so it'll be better for me before doing MLG games (if I ever consider it).

I haven't played in forever, and I don't even know if I'd try MLG once I get back into it. I do a have a friend (well, two really, but one is better and their styles are completely different) who was an absolute monster at both of the old games. This kid pwned at will with just about every character. He's like a game wizard or something. Seriously, its ridiculous. I wish I could convince him to get a 360 and play some Live. He could do some serious damage on a few games.
BTW, here be tiers: Quote:
Top Tier:
Fox
Falco
High Tier:
Sheik
Marth
Peach
Middle Tier:
Captain Falcon
Ice Climbers
Samus
Doctor Mario
Jigglypuff
Mario
Ganondorf
Low Tier:
Link
Luigi
Donkey Kong
Roy
Young Link
Pikachu
Bottom Tier:
Yoshi Zelda
Mr. Game and Watch
Ness
Bowser
Kirby
Pichu
Mewtwo
| I don't know if I agree with everything in this version (there are like a thousand variations). I always thought Link, Roy, and Pikachu were higher for some reason.

| Is that the Gamespot list? That's the one I got it from, and my friend (who's brothers rape with Link and Cpt. Falcon) is beast with Pikachu. Me though, I try to be good with Fox/Falco, but I'm always changing my character because I don't want the same shit going on all the time, you know? And what's the difference between Marth and Roy anyway, besides Roy getting recoil damage when he uses the Breaker attack (B Nuetral)?

I got it from the 06-07 Smashboards list, which should basically be the same thing.
Yeah, I switched around alot as well. I went mostly with Samus I think in melee, more because I played her all the time in 64. I also toyed around with Kirby, Roy, Mewtwo, Bowser, Gannondorf, Pikachu, and just about everyone else in the roster. Pikachu was probably one of my favorites to try new stuff with tho. If you're smart, you can attack your opponents on any part of the map without getting within most characters' range. There's some fun stuff to be done with Pikachu.
I think that is the big difference with Roy. He's stronger but takes longer to recover from his attacks. He's effective, but I agree with the list. He just can't handle alot of the upper tier characters as well. If he was used within a team, then he might be able to, but as it stands...

I agree with Mewtwo and Pichu being on the bottom, they just suck. Pichu gets hurt with every attack, and Mewtwo's movelist is horrid. A friend of mine that was a Pokemon nerd (I'm not even joking) was like "Mewtwo's the best character in the game, blah blah blah...." and I just whomped him with whoever I was using.

Pichu should be out IMO. Mewtwo could be decent if they revamped his moveset and stats. The character outside of the game has potential. Potential that it did not live up to in the game, sadly. His speed was the biggest problem for me. I never understood why a character who could teleport and fly moved like he needed a walker. I think most people wouldn't mind taking a hit in his power (which is actually quite incredible) in exchange for a speed boost. A few of his moves had some potential, but they didn't fit well in his character type. For instace, his side-B confusion-type attack was a decent concept, but he's too slow to really use it effectively IMO.
I will say that his grapple techniques were freakishly strong based on what I remember. That was one advantage he did have.

His side moves, not so much, but it has a good throw range. But yeah his speed pissed me off, and I agree his setlist didn't go well with his speed at all. If anything, he should be balanced, after all you have to play the game for a day straight and/or 700 matches, and yet he isn't even worth it.
