Is it really that hard to find them still? That's pretty gay. I was hoping to go out and buy my own (I have to use my sister's, which gets annoying) once I got a job. But if I have to do research just to find one then screw dat. | I love how your two favs are the fastest and one of the slowest characters in the game. The original odd couple haha. |

He's been getting alot of successful play in the early tourneys. Most people that I've talked to that main him say that he was wierd at first, but was great once they got hold of him. I think PT has a chance to make it into a high tier (not top tho), if not he'll definitely be somewhere in the middle. I'd also watch out for Olimar breaking into the high or possibly top tiers. He's an absolute monster in the right hands. | I agree, I use Sonic mainly. He's strange and goofy at first. Once you get the hang of things though it's like magic.
I am pretty sure the bottom tier will be Bowser, Snake, and Lucario.

I am pretty sure the bottom tier will be Bowser, Snake, and Lucario. | Snake will be high tier. Bowser will be low, maybe bottom. Lucario will be mid, maybe mid-high or high once his true potential comes out when people learn what his potential is.
Ganondorf and Capt. Falcon will be in the bottom I believe, and also possibly Yoshi. |

| I think Snake will be somewhere in the middle. His playstyle is completely different from anything else in the series, but it has potential. He's perfect for doubles matches, which brings up another point: I really wish MLG would establish a doubles circuit for SSBB. The game is much better suited for this type of play from an entertainment aspect, IMO, and it also allows for new variations on strategy. Play would have to be limited to larger maps tho.
Anyways, I think Lucario will probably be mid. He's a very limited character in the air, and alot of his pros aren't really that pro-ish among the real pros (XD I didn't really mean to do that). Nevertheless, his ground capabilities are merciless, so I don't think he can possibly be made low tier.

| I entered the SWF tournament yesterday and I was the only one in my pool who didn't get DQ'd =P
In my opinion, the highest tier characters will be: Marth, Olimar, Pit, Wolf, Dedede, and Toon Link.
(note that I'm just going to go by how good these characters are, not how many people are going to use them).
Here are my reasonings:
Marth is going to be top tier because of his incredable priority, strength, and combo potential. His Fairs combo, his side B can combo, kill, and spike, his sword negates projectiles, and his counter is very strong in this game. His sword is a damaging, quick, disjointed hitbox of raw imbalance. Most of the characters got nerfed from Melee to Brawl, but not Marth. Marth pretty much negates everything you throw at him and does twice the damage you would have done.
Pit, Wolf, and Toon Link will be up there because of their projectiles. They are very spammable, and force the opponent to approach. At that point, they can punish easily using Brawl's powerful shield techs. Pit and TL have swords (disjointed hitboxes) like Marth's, but smaller. Wolf has quick, long range attacks, but I think he'll be at the bottom of high tier because of his less-than-perfect priority.
Dedede is a great character. His shield is HUGE, and so is his grab range. Not to mention he has a chain grab and an any percent, anywhere infinite that can take Mario, Luigi, DK, or Samus from 0% to 300% and back throw for the kill, without a wall. His hammer is both strong and has range. His lack of speed is made up by the fact that he has a semi-spammable projectile and the most easily abusable shield techs in the game.
Finally, Olimar. Olimar is a candidate for top tier. His pikmin are disjointed hitboxes, but they do extra damage. His side B is a spammable projectile that can hit through shields and forces the opponent to either use a strong attack to get them off or take 10-25% per pikmin. If the opponent tries to attack them off, Olimar's long range dashing shield grab with very little lag punishes. His aerials are very strong, his Fsmash is feasibly a projectile on it's own, and his dB in the air gives him super armor frames and the ability to counter instantly because the move has no lag when used in the air.

Just need to find out who's grabs can be chained and up until what percent (I know DDD's can only chain grab Wolf till %50). Once you know that go practice them in training or online to get the timing down.
Check out smashboards for vids on chainable throws. |
