|  CoD4 Maps To Come Out April 3!

Not to be outdone by the likes of Bungie, new details have come to light on the forthcoming Variety Map Pack for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. A post on Xbox.com (via Joystiq) reveals that the pack, which contains four brand new maps, will see release on April 3 for 800 Microsoft Points ($10 bucks). The page also reconfirms that the Call of Duty 4: Game of the Year addition, hitting retail on April 1, will contain a token to download the map pack. As for the new maps, the post describes them thusly:"Creek" is a wide-open village ravaged by combat where concealment is the difference between life and death. In "Broadcast," fight throughout an enemy communications building with confined corridors and wide-open parking lots. "Chinatown" is a foggy downtown district, lit only by a full moon and the neon glow of the city. "Killhouse" features a desolate training warehouse filled with a variety of building mock-ups and soft and hard cover points.  
A couple of oddly small pics of Creek and Chinatown (above) were also shown, as well as details on the "Variety Map Pack Challenge." No, it's not on online tournament with the new maps, but rather a special preview event GameStop will host on March 28 at only two specific locations, in New York City and San Jose. So what about the PlayStation 3 or PC versions of the game, you may be wondering? According to a statement from Activision given to ShackNews, the new map pack will be exclusive to the Xbox Live Marketplace for 21 days. Activision says they will provide further info on if the map pack will be expanding to other platforms later in April.
