Default Enemy Territory: Quake Wars

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars Hands-On Preview (Xbox 360) [link]

Quote:
If you aren’t familiar with the game and assume that with “Quake” in the title, it has to be a fast-paced run-and-gun shooter, here’s what it’s all about: Quake Wars continues the Human vs. Strogg battles for control of Earth, and fits its storyline in after the Quake 2 timeframe. Instead of being strictly a shooter, though, Quake Wars is an objective-based action game for up to 16 players that includes a lot of shooting, but hopefully a lot of teamwork as well towards completing the goals.

You can play as either Human or Strogg, and one team is always “on offense,” while the other is defending and trying to keep the others from progressing. Each team has a number of classes, so if you’d prefer to shoot, or heal and revive teammates, or hack terminals, you can pick to spawn in that role. You can also change classes—which is necessary if you want to contribute toward completing the objectives—on the fly by selecting it from a screen, and respawning in that new role. Also, as you use your class-specific skills, you can earn rewards for hitting certain milestones, such as for successfully shooting enemies as a Soldier or building a device as an Engineer.

If you have no idea what you’re doing, the Training Mode is a handy way to get a better understanding, with a “Bot Guide” leading you through a sample map and telling you how to prepare for meeting the objectives, change classes, switch between your available weapons and tools, etc. The Training Mode is one of the things that was added for the Xbox 360 release that wasn’t included in the previously released PC game.

There are a number of gameplay modes available, so the game provides a lot of variety. You can take on the game solo with bots filling in as your team and opposition, jump into multiplayer matches or Instant Action scenarios that change up the challenge a bit for team-vs.-team battles.
Ive thought about getting this for my pc but with it coming out on the 360 maybe ill try this out.
Hoping theres a demo

In case you didn't know, this is the sequel to Return to castle wolfenstein mod Enemy Territory, which was pretty damn cool back in the day. From what I've heard, this version has some maps that are too heavily stacked in the favor of either attack or defense, but is otherwise good.

interesting, I thought about getting this on PC but I just hate the general lack of ease of friends on PC games. Same reason I never really get on to play rumble pit or something, shit is boring.

Don't expect much. I have the full game running on my PC - and I really don't like it. The storyline and design is REALLY cartoony in my opinion.

So because the design is cartoony, it's a bad game?

The game doesn't seem that great tbh. Plus with GTA4 around the corner, I won't need to buy any other game until UT3 during the summer.
