Unfortunately its made by Treyarch so it will suck.

Activision has decided to drop the numeric subtitle and instead call it Call of Duty: World at War. Confirming the rumors, the game takes place in the Pacific theater of WWII, but Treyarch clarified it is not the same settings we have seen before.

The developer has confirmed that the game uses the Call of Duty 4 engine, incorporates 4-player co-op over Xbox Live, a first for the series; and that versus multiplayer will feature vehicles and squad-based elements. One of the things highlighted in the article is how gritty the game is.

treyarch sure likes there vehicles. They never seem to get the fact that they make the ones that are not so good. The vehicles were horrible in 3, especially the box that they liked to call the jeep. Also, whats up with squad based elements? Maybe if it was just a spawning next to your squad type thing like BF, but really you kind of spawn next to your squad already in COD4. Hopefully they don't go huge on the levels either, b/c as is the case many games, its the smaller levels that get played the most b/c the battle is much more heated and less drving based.

And why go back to WWII when CoD4 was so successful? Why not make a WWIII or something.

One of the levels described in the magazine--called "Maken Raid"--features the torture of an Allied prisoner of war, who then has his throat slit by katana. The brutal scene is watched by the player's character, who is rescued by US Marines much like the real-life Raid at Cabanatuan in 1945.

Based on the Call of Duty 4 engine, Call of Duty: World at War will include more destructible environments than prior games in the series. It will also allow players to swim underwater, as well as use Japanese machine guns and flamethrowers with "propagating fire" burning jungle scenery--and enemies--in realistic fashion.

They can't make a WWIII game because 4 is practicially a WWIII game, Cater.

The screens didn't seem promising, so I'll wait for them to be uploaded somewhere else.

Wow. Back to vehicles and WWII. I'm not going to get this game unless it's amazing. Fucking bullshit.
