Ok, I've already posted this a long time ago in the PDZForum but for the sake of the new Halo2 guys I'm reposting it here...

Similarities you say? Hmm, I'll make this short and sweet. Storyline wise (following the original PD and Halo):

1. We have an undiscovered giant, thousands of years old, alien object that has never been discovered before.
Perfect Dark: Alien space craft under the water carrying a mega weapon.
Halo: Alien facility/mega weapon floating around in space.

2. Rival enemies that are of alien race and want to control and activate the megaweapons for religious purposes.
Perfect Dark: The war worshiping aliens, the Skedar.
Halo: The fanatical combined race of the Covenant that plans to destroy all humans and progress into the "Great Journey".

3. Kickass lead characters (yeah, yeah. I know this isn't a valid point but I AM right though).
Perfect Dark: Jo = kickass
Halo: Master Chief = kickass
Ok back on track now...

4. They BOTH somehow manage to have a foating, posh, know-all A.I. construct as main characters. Except the only thing that makes the construct from Perfect Dark better is that you could blast the crap out of it when you were sick of it's little know-all comments.
Perfect Dark: Floating laptop-like computer device named Dr. Carrol. Blue eyes.
Halo: Floating rat-cageball-like computer device named Guilty Spark. Blue light.

5. Ok, now BOTH of these annoying A.I. constructs know how to activate this alien megaweapon and are exploited for this purpose.
Perfect Dark: Dr. Carrol pluging in and activating the Cetan ships megaweapon.
Halo: The Guilty Spark tries to get Master Chief to plug in his key and activate the Halo's megaweapon.

Ok in saying all of that please note that I'm not trying to pick apart Halo for it's coincidental alikeness because I'm NOT. I just find it interesting of the coincidences. I really love both of these games and I get REALLY bored sitting in front of a computer all day at work. (I'm typing this @ work now with the window minimised so I don't get caught by my patroling boss). Shhhhh.

lol this must have taken a while but yeah i agree(if this is the point of this thread) PDZ and Halo r alot the same but i like halo better i dont really like PDZ

^You're right. That's because PDZ campaign was pretty lame. I'm talkin about the original Perfect Dark. It was one of those campaigns that was a good reason to buy the game.

^Like I said. Not PDZ. The original kicked ass. Even had better multiplayer for it's time. That's what a part of the upcoming downloadable content for PDZ is: adding bot personallities so it's a tiny bit better and closer to the original. Oh, and Bungie based their co-op on the original Perfect Dark coz it rocked. Even some of the soundtrack of Halo is very same-ish to the original PD.
