you just get in there and there is a list of all the people in the game. you can click on their name to see their gamercard if they want. then you just have to push start in order to "ready" up. most of the time, since i've only played customs, the game already started so when you pust start you automatically do into the game. however if the game has not started whoever is the party leader can start the game whenever they want even if all the other players aren't ready.

it's blue.

Just to add to what he said, when it is a ranked game you don't have an option to ready and only the person who created the game has the option to start it and he must wait for whatever the minimum amount of players is. If you go into a ranked pregame lobby be prepared for the host to start it at any time once the minimum amount of players is reached. You see the list of players, but you can also go to a screen that shows all of the specifics about what gametype you will be playing and all the options that the host has chosen which is helpful because if you see something you don't like you can back out before the host starts the game. Just so you know they call custom matches "player matches" and after you choose Xbox Live you can switch between player and ranked match. There are two overall categories of gametypes, these are deathmatch and dark ops. Listed under deathmatch are killcount, team killcount, capture the flag, territorial gains and random. Dark ops is very fun and it borrows a lot from stuff that has worked well in previous multiplayer first person shooters (namely Counter Strike and Halo 2). Dark ops includes eradication, onslaught, infection, sabotage and random. I could go into the details about all these gametypes since they are less obvious than the deathmatch types, but I won't because I'm tired of typing this reply and I've gotten off topic anyway.

and when you are playing ranked and unranked you are playing the people in the same group such as Pro. All pros play each other? with the same Rep right?

also can one of your friends who is on underground can he play with the pro's or so you have to switch to Pro on your gamercard?

As far as I know wether you are pro, underground or something else has no effect on any gameplay in any 360 game. It is just there to help describe yourself to other gamers.
