Just to add to what he said, when it is a ranked game you don't have an option to ready and only the person who created the game has the option to start it and he must wait for whatever the minimum amount of players is. If you go into a ranked pregame lobby be prepared for the host to start it at any time once the minimum amount of players is reached. You see the list of players, but you can also go to a screen that shows all of the specifics about what gametype you will be playing and all the options that the host has chosen which is helpful because if you see something you don't like you can back out before the host starts the game. Just so you know they call custom matches "player matches" and after you choose Xbox Live you can switch between player and ranked match. There are two overall categories of gametypes, these are deathmatch and dark ops. Listed under deathmatch are killcount, team killcount, capture the flag, territorial gains and random. Dark ops is very fun and it borrows a lot from stuff that has worked well in previous multiplayer first person shooters (namely Counter Strike and Halo 2). Dark ops includes eradication, onslaught, infection, sabotage and random. I could go into the details about all these gametypes since they are less obvious than the deathmatch types, but I won't because I'm tired of typing this reply and I've gotten off topic anyway. |
