Game Crazy = Worst Tourney holders EVER!!!!!

Laides and gentlmen i apologize for this thread its mostly me complaining about something but i want to hear what you guys think about what happend to me not to long ago at a halo 2 tourney at my local game crazy.

Ok here it is. We get there and they dont have anything set up. Next they forgot a router to system link so they had to go out and buy one of those. Then they set up the playing stations. There where 4 and every single TV had a terrible glare and you could not see at all because the contrast was to dark and there is fucking way to change it! Well anyways im up first against 3 others. We make our profiles and what not then the gentlmen announces the map. It was on motherfucking zanzibar with 4 fucking people!!!!! For anyone who has played halo you know that is not a map for FFA especially with only 4 total players! The best part about it tho its map default and you could use any weapon! YIPPPPPPEEEEEE!!!!!!

So we start it off and at first everything was going fine. Basically just sniping and BR. Then some kid grabbed rockets and then it just got worse from there. After that i got turreted then later some kid got the ghost and sword! So its dark as hell with a glare there are swords rockets and ghosts running around and i end up getting 3rd and i get eliminated the first round. The best part was everyone was telling me the other kids where terrible. They would have the first 3 shots on me with BR and i would turn around and destroy them.

So then after i get eliminated i stay for the start of the next match. Guess what they play! LOCKOUT! FUCKING AWSOME! So since when do you play a tourney and switch up maps every round??? The tourney was a joke. They had no clue what they where doing and i wasted 20 bucks.

What do you guys think about this?

you should of asked the rules before you put 20 $'s down

i almost did that but it was only 5...and it was ffa..and im horrible ffa...

i would of raped those kids though..you know..i pwn

The thing is i did ask. They decided seriously a few min before the tourney even started. It was so retarded.

What is Game Crazy? Local place+tournament group? Or a gaming store? I've heard of it, but not specifically. Any website?

I would feel sorry for you, but really it is your fault that you didn't get the rules beforehand. And you got beat by 3 people in the same situation as you. Suck it up.

Ya my friend went to a local Tournament with some friends and they paid 20 bucks a person. The setup was so screwed up, they had a big screen tv with it split 4 ways for each team, and of course they had random gametypes that were no where close to 3 what they were suppose to be. And they lost to Pain x Envy and some kids that played with him reularly... sucks.

It was a local store. I did ask for the specs before hand multiple times but they did not decide until the dya of the tourney. So for all i could have known it could have been BR start.

Damn sucks to hear i used to work at Game Crazy but when we held tournaments we always had it together. You should go into tournaments like that with low expectations, because that company can be pretty cheap (those old tvs wont be replaced, even if they break and it doesnt surprise me an employee had to go and buy something for the store). In fact we used to hold tournaments for free and give away gift certificates but i guess they decided it wasnt worth it anymore. Twenty bucks also seems a little steep if i were you i'd figure where all that money went.

Also keep in mind that theyre a video game store firsthand and everything else comes second.

charlie, I feel your pain bro. my blockbuster had a tourny like that except it was an h1. and the setup was similar. this was an h1 tourny and whoever won got an xbox and halo 2. so the setup was we play on this lil ass tv, no chairs. the map was beaver creek with plasma pistol starts, now remember its default settings and teh score goes up to 15. so i decided to forget abou the pistol and go with what i had so i just beat down ppl with my plasma. and this kid also got the rockets and basically won it. teh score ended up being him getting first-15 and me getting 2nd-13 and the next map they played. hang em high. it was pretty wack but my blockbuster was chill about it, it didnt cost anything and everyone gota 5 dollar gift card.
