Default Party system and matchmaking ala Halo II?

So does the live play have any sort of party system, so me and my buds can all join together and join and leave the same sessions? Plus can you do random playlist matchmaking like in Halo II?

I'll give you the good news first, in a "player" match you can invite your friends and you can all stay together for multiple games. Here is the bad news. In a ranked match there is no party system, you cannot invite friends, and even if you have a good game with a team you cannot stay together and keep playing. After a ranked game your only option is to press b and leave the game. Next game you are matched up with and against entirely random players again. Now ask me about how teams are chosen in ranked games!

from what ive seen its all about fun rather than competition in this game. The stats are meaningless and there is no teams where u can go around and be good.

That doesnt make it better. Matchmaking was revolutionary. The SYSTEM ITSELFwas perfect, its just the fact that people learned to exploit it that made it seem bad. I think every game should have matchmaking. Recently, I went on to Crimson Skies to play with a few friends for a good laugh, and we found it extremely cumbersome to go to our friends list, wait for out "leader" to join a room, then following him. Besides, you shouldnt care about rank, its just a video game.
