| Round based, or Multi Spawn FPS? Im just curious to see what peoples thoughts are on this.
The question is, do you like Round based FPS games (counter strike, GoW soon :B, etc) or round based fps (halo, etc)
i like round based, much easier imo but alot more fair compaired to multispawn (h2 players know what i mean lol spawning behind someone =p) |

| I'm going to have to say multi spawn because i hate sitting out and i want war coming at me all the time.
But GoW is kinda different in some ways because you are given the chance to be revived, which is what makes a round based spawn about teamwork and your skill. Teamwork is seriouly the key in this game for so many reasons.

| Round based only works for certain games (CS, R6) but fails terribly at games like Halo and PDZ.
Overall, I like multiple spawns better, but like I said, it all depends on the game. |

| I agree with Hex. Urban is hella fun with TKC and randomspawn in PDZ.
I prefer multi spawn myself. I want to play as much as possible and a cheap kill doesn't sting as much when you get to come right back. Round based potentially leads to more camping and conservative play, I like to be reckless.
If it is an enjoyable round based game, it has to have a killer spectator mode so you don't get completely bored. PDZ spectating is lame, you can't see the action. CoD2's is pretty cool. |

| It all depends on the game and how it’s played. Both have advantages and disadvantages and it all depends on how the game uses it. I personally hate both as I don’t believe a game (unless you change how it plays) can do both as effectively as if they only focused on one.
Multi Spawn:
Pros:
- You can get right back into the action
- You don’t get bored when you die
- There is always a lot of action and fighting because the penalty for death is not that high
Cons:
- Because there is no death penalty your more inclined to run into a room guns blazing
- Spawns can usually set up a team to either get spawn camped or not giving them access to weapons
Round Based:
Pros:
- Fights are much more intense as your literally fighting for your (one) life
- Everyone takes the game more seriously because they can’t come back if they do something stupid
- No spawn killing
Cons:
- Depending on the game (like PDZ) having one life can influence players into camping
- If you die depending on the game (like PDZ) you could get bored waiting to play again.
- One mistake could mean your gone
Games like PDZ do multispawn right (you have access to all the weapons right away) but do things like round based (IMO erad is a camp fest) wrong. Games like Gears of War which are round based do it right (from what I have seen) because of the short rounds and an awesome spectator mode. |

| Just a heads-up, PDZ randomspawn blows. It's literally RANDOMspawn.
I generally go for the multi-spawn, but like Angel said, it all depends on the game. PDZ was a terrible round-based game because camping was just too easy. H2 would be worse for round-base because it's just too easy. But it's also hard to imagine amazing games like CS and R6 being multi-spawn.
Btw, don't complain about getting spawn-killed. If you're that bad, you deserve it. |
