It's amazing, but there are some problems with it, as I posted on youtube.

The only problem, demonstrated by the football example, is moving closer to the screen gives you a wider field of vision. In an FPS, this is crucial, and an inconsistent can break a game, especially in the multiplayer aspect. I really love the idea and it would be amazing in most single player scenarios.

That is awesome and amazing. It also makes me wonder if it's a unique idea, or if similar concepts are already in research at present. This was added 4 days ago and it has already hit 560,000 views? No way it isn't getting noticed, and the Wii motion stuff formerly seemed fun and goofy, but this gives it some potential for increasingly innovative gameplay using hardware that is already in production. Good chance we'll be seeing a game using this before 2009, and I might finally be interested enough in the Wii to get myself one.

Edit: The field of view problem could be handled by bordering the play area so getting too close to the television would essentially shrink the size of your screen, I believe. However, it isn't as big of an issue as you might think. There are already field of view issues in games currently. For those who still play on a Standard set as opposed to wide screen, some people have larger or clearer displays than others, settings (pixel aspect ratio, brightness, etc.) can all be fine tuned and some people have better setups than others. You take what you have, make it work to your preference and play with it, but some people will have better or worse setups, so there will always be differences.

Sure, you can sit two feet from your television and get a wider field of view, but the closer you are to the television, the farther the edges of the screen move into your peripheral vision, the larger the set, the bigger the tradeoff. Keep in mind that getting too close to the set will put some objects behind you, (some of those objects could be opponents), so you would also be making that trade off as well.

Seriously though imagine playing H3 or CoD 4 and someone says "Hey there's a guy to your right" you literally look right and you can see him instead of moving your thumbstick. It's like virtual reality without the funky goggles
