Bravil Recommendation-Mages Guild

I'm doing the Bravil Recommendation for the Mages Guild. I've caught up with Vamori, and I have maxed out my disposition while persuading him, but still every time I try to get him to talk about Ardaline he says something like "I sort of know her..." etc, which is useless. What do I need to do? What am I missing? Thanks!

Part I
Find the thief Varon Vamori and persuade him to return the mage's staff he stole. When you do persuade him (~70 disposition), you find out he sold the staff to Soris Arenim in Imperial City.
Part II
Find Soris Arenim in Imperial City – he lives with his wife in the Talos Plaza District. You can persuade him to around 70 and then he will sell the staff to you for 200gp, and won't consider anything less.
As he won't just hand it over, if you don't want to have to fork out the cash, there's another option available to you. Have a chat with his wife. Get her disposition up and she'll tell you that he has the staff stowed away in a locked chest in the basement. The key can be found in a desk upstairs. Wait until they've gone to bed, then pay another surreptitious visit and liberate the staff.

Weird, I have 64 disposition and it maxed out. Do I need to be really good at speechcraft, cause I'm not...only like 6 hours into the game.

You should of gotten two Captivate magic scrolls when you were assigned the quest. If you use it it'll basically increase his disposition to about 80+, so you can get to the next part.

You could optionally sneak into his basement and grab it, if I recall correctly.

He's having trouble getting the location from the thief who sold it to the merchant, but if you read the guide I posted it should tell you were to go it you can do it like that.

This is gonna sound wicked stupid, but what do you mean by use it? You can't read it. I already got it from Kie El (or whatever).

Go to the spells column, and scroll around either Target spells or Touch spells. You'll know which one you're looking for afterward, then use it on the thief to raise his disposion more.

So, I go to the spells, and I equip Beguile...then what.

you should just be able to walk up to him and use it on him. and it should make him pee his pants and want to blurt out all the information.
