| Anyone else noticed the loading times have tripled? Was it the update or is it just my Xbox?
It takes about a minute and a half to travel between places, and "Loading Area" stays up for about 20 seconds every few hundred meters. Extremely annoying.
Hopefully it's not just my Xbox. |

I think your Xbox is dying.

| Tex, he's talking about Oblivion, not Halo.
Scott, I"ll pop in my copy and see what's up. Apparently there's a glitch in Oblivion that can cause long loading times and make certain areas unplayable... you may be experiencing that =( |

| Well this is my first time playing it in a few months, I started a new game and had to update it.
Thanks Hitzel. I hope it's only a glitch anyway; it's better than my Xbox dying haha. |

If he said Oblivion to begin with, it would have cleared up the confusion.
Anyway, clear your cache. There's a button combo to do so. Oblivion has so many loading areas in the game, and to keep from having a load time EVERY time you enter an area, it keeps most of it in your cache in your 360. Clear your cache and deal with a few of your normally visited places being loaded again for a few minutes, then it should fix up your problem real quick.

| I have to run now. I played some of the expansion pack with a 200+ hour file and didn't see any slowdown besides in the main menu, which I always get. I didn't try it in the normal realm.
FYI, the glitch normally happens to save files that you've been playing for a VERY long time when information starts to flood. If you just made a new char, I don't think you're experience that glitch unless it effects all save files... I'm unsure... I'll try to figure it out later.
*Edit*
Also know that the button combo tex is talking about can harm your memory if there's nothing wrong with it and you do the clear too much.. I don't know how much "too much" is... so there's some risk. The 360's great, isn't it?

I don't think a cache clear will harm anything. Even if it does, I've only put 5 hours into this save, it wouldn't be too horrible if it messed it. I'd rather take the risk because it is actually unplayable. I'm in a loading screen more than I'm playing. Quote:

It's pretty obvious that I'm talking about Oblivion.
I will try clearing the cache, thanks for the suggestion. |

Obviously it wasn't obvious to me because I don't pay attention to junk and the resolution on this monitor is so high I can barely read shit. I just clicked the most recent posts and didn't read what category it was in.
So, my bad, sorry for helping. Won't happen again.

I don't see the big deal here. I'm actually confused by your tone, but whatever, thanks for the suggestion. |
