Ok, so I have this idea. On most forums with games and graphix boards there are usually a few contests. And I wanna see what you guys think about this one I have in mind.
Basically, it's a video contest having to do with Oblivion. What I want to do is pick a particular dungeon or region somewhere in the game and have people take gameplay footage while fighting through the area, add an intro/credits/music(maybe), and have them submit the vid to this site on a particular thread that will be made. The video will then be judged by a panel of judges on several criteria. They are as follows:
1. Time: That's the main part of the in-game competition. Whoever has the fastest time will get a "10/10" for this part and everyone else will be judged according to that time. We will have to find a way to make sure that the times given are real but I'm sure that there's a way.
2. Strategy: This will be decided by those on the panel that are real experts . Each individual strategy will be graded on a scale of 1-10.
3. Style: This will be determined by some of the more nubbish members of the panel. It's basically the "wow" factor of each video.
4. Editing: Yeah, I know it sounds odd for what's being talked about but I'm mainly talking about the intro, credits, and appropriate music choice (which will be hard).
5. The Character: This will be determined by the panel as a whole. You'll have to give some sort of introduction to your character in the intro. This will be based on pretty much whatever the panel wants. Skills, achievements, titles, overall look, etc. It's basically the overall 1337ness of your character.
Well, that's my proposition. I want suggestions about the idea. Whether it's good or not and whether something should be changed or added. Also, if you guys like the idea then a panel of judges needs to be formed and the area that the players will have to compete in will have to be decided. I figure the panel should be mostly experts (so that everything can be analyzed properly) and a few nubs (like me
) just to judge the overall look and feel (how "cool" each video is) of the videos.
I guess the winner will receive a signature banner or something to commemorate that they are the winner. Not made by me though cause I don't have PS on this comp and I'm extremely limited to what I can do at school (jus look at the ones I have now. they are the suxzors).
