9:50pm: Assassin's Creed hits shelves November 2007. Moore is back on stage. Talking again about Halo. Glimpse into the storyline behind Halo 3. Trailer playing. Impressive FMV sequence. Talking again about the "perfect storm" of big game franchises. Sept 25th Halo 3 launches. NEW CONSOLE... it's a Halo 3 Special Edition Xbox 360. Launches in September along with new accessories. No word on the specs of the special edition. The console is green in color. Difference must be visual only. Briefing is over. "Before we go, let's make sure, we finish the fight." Halo 3 trailer showing.
9:44pm: Cute girl and a guy on stage talking about Assassin's Creed. They're now playing the game showing the city of Jeruselum. Gameplay appears to still need some work. Looks good though! Fight system is based on real time combos and counter attacks. Looks very smooth. Changed weapons to a short sword. Also has throwing knives which are a long range weapon.
9:39pm: Peter Moore is back on stage and so is Sam Fisher, coming to the 360. Now talking about GTA4. Showing trailer #2 on the big screen. Footage is captured from an Xbox 360 apparently. GTA4 hits on October 16 in America, October 19 in Europe. Two new exclusive episodes of GTA4 by Spring 2008. Virtua Fighter 5 is an Xbox 360 exclusive. Namco releasing Ace Combat 6 and Eternal Sonata, two more exclusives. Devil May Cry 4 also coming to Xbox. Talking about commitment by Japanese developers. About to show game that won't launch this year but it is in-game footage on the 360. Resident Evil 5 coming to the Xbox 360 in 2008! Trailer looks impressive. The game is Resident Evil 5. July 26th the full trailer will be released on XBL. Assassin's Creed devs are coming on stage.
9:34pm: Project Lead Jason West is playing the game on stage. Graphics look amazing. Very realistic lighting. They're sniping. Very exciting. Player holds his breath. Takes down both enemies. Pistols are out. Tango by the car. Taken out. Players move very realistically. Chopper is coming in. It's an enemy. They hid. Off on foot again. Get down! Hold fire... there's too many of them. Let them go. Shit they're coming right for us. He's paused the game, demo is over. Very impressive. Exclusive to Xbox 360 they're bringing out a beta of COD4!
9:31pm: Call of Duty 4 team is about to show the game. Game is based in modern times. Trailer being shown. Based on gameplay. Lots of explosions. Bullets going everywhere. Not sure exactly what's happening. Lots of action. Trailer is over. Didn't reveal much. Looks good though. Infinity Ward are coming on stage to talk more about the game.
9:26pm: Talks about consistent interface across platforms for multiplayer games. Makes a lot of sense. A dozen live enabled title for Windows by end of year. Games for Windows Live will be built into Epic Games Unreal Engine 3. Wow... that is a big deal! 10 million gamers now on Windows Vista. Major publishers using the Games for Windows branding. Titles like Crysis, Age of Conan etc etc. Most anticipated titles for Games for Windows: Flight Simulator X: Acceleration, Thrillville, Bee Movie Game, Hellgate London, Age of Empires III Asian Dynasties, Stranglehold, Gears of War, BioShock, Crysis, Universe at War, Blacksite Area 51, World in Conflict, Age of Conan, Lost Planet, Kane and Lynch, Company of Heroes, Zoo Tycoon 2 Extinct Animals, Juiced 2, Viva Pinata, Spider Man Friend or Foe.
9:21pm: Two new additions to Games for Windows. Viva Pinata, Gears of War (to come with a game editor). Cliffy B comes on stage to talk about Gears of War for the PC. Gears on PC allows you to fight to Bru-Mac, a giant creature from the 360 game trailer. Now Cliffy B is battling this monster. Get those active reloads Cliffy. He's taking down the monster. Cutting into him, ohhh, he paused the game just before the battle ended. He says he didn't want to spoil the ending, haha. What a tease! Peter Moore back on stage!
9:17pm: Trailer showing bikes and cars racing on snow. Looks amazing. Physics look good but it's hard to tell from trailers. No mention of a demo unfortunately. Shane Kim back on stage. Peter Jackson partnering with Bungie for Halo Wars. Lost Odyssey trailer now showing. Exclusive to the 360.
9:12pm: Shane Kim, VP and Corporate officer hits the stage. Says hello. This holiday will see new titles from the creator of Blue Dragon and Final Fantasy. Bungee will launch Halo 3. When these masterpieces arrive on store shelves they'll join a great run of existing titles. Talking about Forza 2, it is currently the best selling game on any platform in Europe. Will sell 1 million unit worldwide by the end of this month. 1 - 2 punch is Forza 2 and PGR4. PGR3 was one of the most successful Xbox 360 launch titles. Now showing PGR4. The creators of PGR4 are coming on stage to talk about the game. Bikes lining up alongside cars. Bikes from all major manufacturers. 120 vehicles from past and present. Track being shown is Shanghai. Weather effects like snow and fog. Tropical storms and heavy rain. Share photos and videos in new feature, PGR on demand. PGR4 out this September. Trailer for the game now showing.
9:11pm: Every movie from disney available to download from Xbox Live tonight! Starting this fall, they're going global with the roll out of HD video downloads on Xbox Live. End of the year, Canada and Europe will have HD TV downloads. August 24th Xbox 360 Elite will launch in Europe.
9:08pm: Now talking about the TV shows. Over 2000 hrs of entertainment from 28 networks. 500 hours of high def content. More than twice the size of the nearest cable provider, leading the way for digital distribution. Xbox members have spent more than 25 million on downloads for TV content. Tonight they announce an agreement with Disney to bring their classic hits to Xbox Live. Trailer now showing Tarzan, Winnie the pooh, Atlantis, Hercules, Emperor's New Groove, Armageddon, Sky High, Waterboy, Bad Company, Unbreakable, Brothers Grimm, Bringing Down the House, Coyote Ugly, Deja Vu, Primeval, The Queen, Venus, all in high definition.
9:04pm: Xbox Live now has 7 million members. New member every 8 seconds. By this time next year at e3, they expect 10 million members. Xbox live arcade is going to continue to grow the community. 45 million game downloads so far. By end of this year, over 100 games to choose from. New games coming out soon (showing on the screen now): Bomberman Live, Undertow, Hexic 2, Sonic the hedgehog, War world, Sensible world of soccer, every extend, Geano, Wing Commander Arena, Feeding Frenzy 2, Track & Field, Spyglass Board Games, Golden Axe, Space Giraffe, Super Puzzle Fighter II, Word Puzzle, Marathon Durandal, Poker SMash, Switchball, Tetris Splash, Puzzle Quest (YAY!).
8:58pm: Video showing Naruto Rise of a Ninja is showing. EA Sports titles will run at twice the speed, twice as many frames per second as last year's games. Other than that, no changes mentioned. NFL star running back from saints Reggie Bush runs onto stage. He's tall.
8:56pm: MS marketing president Jeff bell takes the stage. Talking about new content on Xbox Live. New game based on a board game called "Scene It?" Coming to Xbox Live in HD. Comes with a new controller that they're announcing tonight. It's the first controller they've designed for everyone. Game comes with four controllers. Controller consists of a big red button and four answer buttons.
8:52pm: Talking about the "perfect storm" of gaming. This time all three games in this perform storm will be released on the 360 this holiday season. These franchises will drive growth in the industry. 8:50pm: Top 5 games of last generation, he has two tattooed on his arms. Three GTA games, Halo 1 and Halo 2.
8:48pm: "This year, people will spend more money on games than they will on music" Xbox 360 has the largest install base of this generation. They're looking at the Xbox 360 sales numbers. Outselling PS3 by nearly 2-1. Xbox 360 is selling more games than anyone else. More games sold on 360 than both Wii and PS3 combined. Since November Xbox 360 third party games have cracked the top 10 list 18 times. Stats for PS3 and Wii, 0. Zero. Nil, Nada. Nothing.
8:46pm: Video of Mass Effect being shown.Looks eye-poppingly gorgeous. Detailed FMVs. Don't think this is actual gameplay. "Your species needs to learn its place"... very cool. Trailer is finished. Applause from the media present. Mass Effect will be on retail shelves this November.
8:45pm: Showing a video of Viva Pinata... not sure if this is the sequel or a new game. "Viva Pinata Party Animals". That's the official name.
8:42pm: They're finished, thank god. Someone hit pause by accident. More bands to be announced later this week. Build your own band with friends from around the world. "The Party Animals Are Coming!" Viva Pinata 2!
8:41pm: Harmonix takes the stage. Peter Moore picks up a guitar, he's playing Rock Band with the Harmonix team! There are four of them on stage, Peter Moore has been phased out for some reason... oh now he's back in. Peter Moore is singing... what the? Sounds bad, but funny. He's trying. Go Peter!
8:40pm: The band is from Libertyville. Peter Moore is talking about Halo fans. "Welcome to the new E3". "For all of you watching from home, we wish you were here with us." Every game you will see at this year's E3 will be coming out this year.
8:39pm: Band has finished. No, wait, they're still playing. They just paused for a second. Now they're finished. "Please welcome Peter Moore."
8:37pm: Scenes from the Halo 3 beta are being shown on the screens as the band continues to play.
8:35pm: 5 "Halo fans" are playing in a band on stage. Sounds incredible. They're rocking out...
8:32pm: The stage is set, "Ladies and gentleman, the show is about to begin."
8:29pm: The creator of Burnout is here. Maybe he'll talk about the next game in the series.
8:28pm: Briefing is about to begin. "What does Microsoft have in store for future of Xbox live?" Someone says.
8:22pm: We've just been informed that the briefing will start in 10 minutes!
8:19pm: Press are gathering in the coliseum, and taking their seats, ready for the start of the briefing at 8:30.
