| Does GoW count even tho it was released late 2006? If so I nominate that, if not I nominate BioShock.

| This statement is for Angel. Would you consider The [=] Game of the Year for the great bundle it comes in [5-1], or for the uniqueness of the games, knowing already that people who own PCs have already played HL2 and E1 before?
As for me, I agree that The [=] deserves to be a nominee for Game of the Year, it's amazing (gamewise and budget wise). I also believe Bioshock, Mass Effect, Call of Duty 4 and a few other games deserve to be Game of the Year. I still want credit for all the fun games that had potential for the award if they were loved enough, this going for Lost Planet (amazing game imo), Shawdowrun (overrated said by most, but enjoyable), and a few others.
For other consoles though, even though I don't have a PS3 I would say Warhawks or Lair should be Game of the Year for that system, or be the best in their catergory (Angel may back me up if he wants). For Nintendo, Pokemon Diamon/Pearl is definitely going to be a contender for the RPG Game of the Year, or atleast it'll be one of Nintendo's top tier games (along with Mario Galaxy).

| I say either Mass Effect, Halo 3, Assassins Creed, GH3 and possibly Mario Galaxy. I forgot to mention Bioshock |

| Assassin's Creed is going to bomb it. It won't do as good due to all the bugs and flaws it had in the E3 demo of it, plus people are already too into Call of Duty 4, GH3 or Halo 3 to even play it.

I don't game on PC/Mac, and I skipped on the Xbox version of HL2 (even though I own it) because of console capabilities. So, with an instant classic like HL2 and both expansions, and with the addition of Portal, one of the most unique and humorous puzzle games ever created, and on top of that, TF2, another amusing and perfectly balanced shooter...how can you not vote for it? |

| I honestly don't think The Orange Box should be nominated for the amount of games there is in one. Just don't think it's fair. |

You have the HL Triology (HL2, E1 and E2), and you have some what of a prequel to it (Portal), due to all the references to Black Mesa it would show all the technologies they were working on (gravity gun, teleportation, ect). They threw TF2 in there because it's too damn awesome.
You remember Legend of Dragoon, and it had the four discs (along with every other JRPG)? Think of The [=] like that, but crammed into one disc.

It's fine for player matches, but it's hard to play seriously when one team has longer respawns, longer time needed to capture goals, and avg. weaker bullets... although I do believe that longer respawns is balanced in specific cases where the objective is located on one team's side of the map.
Being able to win 4-0 in a game to 5 and still getting sent so sudden death is very annoying... but of course you can just ignore the results of sudden death in private matches.
Don't get me wrong. Besides those flaws, TF2 is a wonderfully balanced game. More devs need to learn how to balance their games like Valve did with Team Fortress. I just can't bring myself to say TF2 is perfectly balanced with the anti-tie system in place. |
