I voted for Shadowrun because I feel it's the most unique game that came out this year, and I've also definitely had the most fun with it. It's a balanced, well-designed shooter that really is really satisfying for a hardcore gamer. On the mass scale, Shadowrun is extremely underrated, and it deserves GotY most, IMO.
For those reasons, I voted for Shadowrun. |

Sure, SR was great, but it wasn't content-rich enough. Sure it was amazing for the hard-core gamer, but not for the casual.
A great game needs to appeal to everyone.

A great game needs to appeal to everyone. | It all depends if you think Game of the Year should go to the game you think is best or the game everyone else thinks is best.
That being said, it's hard to say Shadowrun is greater than or equal to Halo 1, even if they were both made by the same guy. Halo 1's multiplayer did almost nothing wrong. | |

Halo 3, Bioshock, GH3, and Rock Band.
H3 cuz my <3 belongs to Halo since day 1.
Bioshock cuz it was gorgeous, and fun as hell.
GH3 because I do love me some GH.
And Rock Band because that game is an amazing breakthru, for modern gaming, and for tournaments. Who woudln't want to spectate a RB tournament?
