A tip for new players to a FPS I don't have an Xbox 360 yet, and I've almost given up on halo. I think that the first day you play the game, it determines your attitude toward the game for the rest of your play, your first impression is the greatest.
I recommend reading up on the game BEFORE you get it. And when you do get the game, spend at least 3 days on the campaign levels on easy, then normal.
Then, contact a friend you know, and play some practice games, let him tell you what to do in certain situations, and have him play like 1-2 skirmishes with him. then invite more of his friends. Concentrating on the basics in a FPS is a great issue with me, if you don't master the basics first, and get all carried away, it could ruin your experience. Plus, people who are level 1, just like in halo, are probably on their second or third account, so before you touch matchmaking it is a good idea to play customs, or unranked games with players of a low rank-i.e 10-20 would be a good range, as they probably are truely new players to the game. Finally, play the coop. You can get tips while not having to get killed every three seconds. Also, watch a few of the -EARLY- montages, if you watch some of the newer montages, you might start getting ahead of yourself, and start making the same basic mistake over and over, trust me, I have certain habits that make me SUCK, yes SUCK at halo. So make sure before you n00b it up, that you check it out. |
