Halo Wars Professionally Played...?

I know WCG has Starcraft as one of their games in the line-up, but I think this game can easily top it and make it onto there. A new age game like this hasn't been made an awhile, and I havnt seen any games like it being released in the future, soo I would be seriously surprised if it didn't make it somewhere professionally when it comes out.

MLG is a whole different story though, because I think they aim more towards FPS and TPS shooter games for their main lineup of games. Gears Of War, Call Of Duty 3, etc... would have a better chance to make it onto the MLG scene then this, unless MLG does expand itself to more and different genres of games.

In my opinion I dont think this game will go to a professional level like MLG or WCG but I do believe there will be tournaments for the game that people host for money and stuff. This game is going to get a lot of hype and it is possible to go big but as of now Im not soo sure.

I know im either reading it wrong or u worded it wrong but it seems like u said no, since its a Bungie game. Isnt Halo 2 a bungie game?? Even with the limited stuff we know about it, I can see it replacing Starcraft on the WCG board because the Halo series is becoming more popular as the months go on.

There is no way its not going to have online. Its going to be like starcraft but in the halo universe most likely. We will have to really wait and see and get more details to really come up with accurate stuff but i think if everything turns out like im thinking it can easily be competitive and played proffessionally just like starcraft.

How could it not have online? RTS's are popular online.

I see this game as being fun and popular, but I haven't seen enough of it to say weather or not it's competitive enough to be professionally played. IMO, hardcore RTS players won't let in Halo Wars take over the dominant RTS's with open arms, because they don't have the love for halo that other gamers do. So I really don't see HW becoming a professionally played game unless it's VERY good.

MLG has SSBM, which is fighting and they dont even have any TPS'.

But ya i think they should make this game for MLG/WCG which ever works out best. But either way im getting this and i might play it more then H3.

Unless it turns a lot of heads and doesn't turn out to be a run of the mill game then I could see it being played in some tourney series. Right now though i'd say that it probably won't be picked up but then again you can never be too sure when it has halo strapped to it's name.
