|  Why Is Rap Music Not Liked In Montages??
This has always been something on my mind. I know that some people do it and get great reviews, but I remember at my H2F days people saying "bad music choice" to most montages using rap music. I just don't see why its such a bad choice. If anything, I would prefer to use rap music instead of other genres. Rap music beats can flow well with montages, and can lead to some great synching moments. Ive listened to different rap songs and thought, "damn this would go well in a montage" and pictured exactly what would happen at different moments.
Too bad I dont have a capture card though  |

I don't know why. I, like you, also like hip-hop/rap in montages because it can be so synchronized. But probably because it gets boring and redundant after a while. | |

Its not really bad. Rap is good the beats makes it easy to line up footage. Maybe its becuase rap can be repetitive making little change at different points in the song. This may cause some people to get bored and make them feel as they have seen this before at the start of the montage. | |

i liked shook on3's montage cuz he always puts like one rap song and one "punk rock??" song..
im not sure what u guys are calling it this day..
im half white half black and i like basicallly all kinds of music except country
and i think rap music is MUCH better..
now dont get me wrong theres some really nice punk rock songs that go good..
im just a big fan of ANYTHING that has ANY or somewhat "screaming" in it..
i like linkin park's stuff and those kinds..
its a risky move but if well edited i think ppl could actually like it

I love to hear rap in montages. Personaly though I go through a cycle it goes from Metal to Rap to Metal again. The thing is that rock in general allows for a faster beat that most rap doesn't deliver. But I would love to see some montages featuring Talib Kweli.

Most people who rated the tages I guess hated rap and had a personal bias...but I think rap and hiphop is perfect for montages with the beats and stuff.

Rock music usually is music that "pumps" up people. In montages, a lot of the gameplay is usually pretty sick, so rock music just best fits montages. Rap is all right once in a while, but not all the time.
An example would be Shook on3: Fragging Rights ; rap music was perfect for that montage.
