Animated Star Wars (The clone wars) movie set to release August 15th!
I'm not sure how i feel about this. I mean it looks ok. Personally i would rather have seen the later episodes like Return of the Jedi in action. We shall see how this goes when its released later this year. Check out the info i have below as well as the trailer for it!

With this new version coming to theaters, more actors have played the character of Anakin Skywalker than have been James Bond. Counting everyone in and out of Darth Vader's suit, seven actors have played the part, ranging in age from 9 (Jake Lloyd in The Phantom Menace) to 78 (Sebastian Shaw in Return of the Jedi).
It could be alright. It'll at least fill some interesting story gaps. I'd imagine that's the only reason Lucas gave it the green light.
And, yes Skating_jesus, there was mini cartoon series about the Clone Wars between Episodes II and III, I think. I was around 12 at the time if I remember correctly. Only saw one or two of 'em.

but there was already a clone wars cartoon. Not necessarily the story line that this one might take, but there was a cartoon series called clone wars. Wikipedia has it running from 2003-2005

Agreed. With the reputation Star Wars has you'd think they could get someone of about Frank Miller caliber to establish an appropriate look for a cartoon. Granted, the show will be aimed at kids. That doesn't mean the art should suffer though.
