I honestly hate to say this because I've loved Guitar Hero before I ever actually played it...but I really am not excited about this track list so far. I'm a huge fan of classic rock, so seeing bands like Rush, Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Cream and other bands like that on the first two was just awesome. It seemed that every band on there was a band I liked, and not only that, but they picked the right song from that band as well.
With Guitar Hero 3, the songs just aren't jumping off the list so to speak like they did in the previous two. There are some great bands listed, but it just doesn't appear to be the best songs. I could totally go for some Yes, The Who, (I know they're trying to, and can't, but) Led Zeppelin. Jimi Hendrix has made only one appearance, and he's by far the best guitarist of all time. Stevie Ray Vaughan? Eric Clapton(again, made one appearance with Crossroads)? The Police have some great guitar songs. You can't really go wrong with Nirvana, since pretty much every can dig them at least a little bit. I'm glad to see the Rolling Stones in there, but again...just doesn't seem like the right song selection. Don't get me wrong, there are a few songs I can't wait to play...School's Out by Alice Cooper and Paranoid by Black Sabbath, but I really just don't see anything on that list that makes me dying to own this game.
I realize that these are prolly half, or maybe even less than half of the release tracks, but I really hope that they are keeping the best on the list a secret, because I am not impressed at all at the moment.
