| I have had my drum set since launch and never had a single problem with the foot pedal. I have even taken it out to some bars and had Rock Band nights with loads of other people playing on it and its still fine. My guitar on the other hand broke on day one. It can only do up strums. Imo the new set with GH 4 is going to blow Rock Bands away so I won't even bother replacing mine even if it does break. |

| I've had to replace the whole kit about 3 times now. Once was my guitar, twice was the drum kit, and thrice was the drum kit again.
Anyways I bought mine at bestbuy and got there 2 year in store warranty and boy o boy does it help. All you do is take it back and swap it for another no questions asked. The warranty was only about 30 - 50$ i cant remember.

| Guys, Guys, Guys! If you so upset about your faulty hardware, do something about it. There ARE solutions to these problems.- You could fix it your self (this depends if you feel like voiding your warranty, but as of now looks like its going to run out anyways so what the heck.)
- Make your own, there are plenty of tutorials on how to construct your own Foot pedal and even descriptions own how to replace the guitars strum mechanism with a real switch. (This brings up another point of interest, Look below)
I was sort of looking forward to seeing the new hardware but I was pretty disappointed at the strum mechanism I discovered while fixing my Rock Band Guitar. Basically instead of a switch like on previous Guitar Models the mechanism consists of two metal arms parallel to each other. When the strum bar is pushed up or down the arm closest to the strum bar is bent forward taping the other arm completing the circuit. The problem with mine is the housing for the arm furthest away from the strum bar (on the down strum side) was loose and therefore allowed the arm to pivot freely creating a faulty connection. By simply rotating the housing counter-clock wise I was able to tighten the housing screw and fix my problem. I have so far not had any problems with my pedal but believe you me, I have bookmarked some very handy DIY websites. If any of you would like further assistance please feel free to make a reply or just send me a message. Thanks |
