Oh wow, that's cool. I've never played Shadowrun (=/) but I never knew that. Is there a reference in the game somewhere, or something?

EDIT: I just read about the story on Wikipedia. That's pretty cool. I also didn't know that this is the 4th Shadowrun game. :o

just because i game has a menu based fighting doesnt mean the game is an rpg!, its just means the game has a menu based fighting system, go your story right.....then come back to me

are you kidding me kid, i read all of them, and they all just show yours as daft as new final fantasy's. RPG just hencing the saying ROLE PLAYING GAME
if anything menu based fighting system means nothing. ROLE PLAYING SIMPLY MEANS. you "role play" as the character. Final Fantasys have guide lines you usually have to follow. Rpg's are wear you make your own choiced. Such as in phantasy star univers, become what ever type of fighter you want. In final Fantasy7..your still cloud... or who ever u are in 7....Its simply more of an adventure game then oblivion...My point proven exactly..dont flip out cuz all rpg's dont have menu based fighting system...you nub.

O wowz...taking shit from a kid who says Final Fantasy isn't "really" an RPG and can't spell...well anything right. Way to impress people with you amazing logistical and conversational skills.

And just for the record, games like Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior are the games that pioneered the RPG genre. Sure, there were text=based before this (Shadow Gate, etc...) but those games were the first in which you played a character...you became him. You felt the emotion, the anger...you became the the main protagonist of the story.

So to say FF is not a "real" RPG is incredibly disrespectful, and not to mention stupid.

you have never played FF7 or 6 or 8 or 9 or 10 have you? the mere fact that you said "your still cloud, or whoever u are in 7" tells me you know absolutely nothing about the topic at hand. and angel pretty much just owned u with the above post so i have nothing more to say, not once did i call u a nub (which is insulting to me in my book) so learn how to spell, play some REAL RPG's and then, maybe then! come back and discuss them with us.......NUB!!!...EDIT : omg i just noticed that you said FF7 is more of an "adventure" game than oblivion is, this again lets me know a few things, UR A MORON, you have never played any FF7, and ur probably younger than 16, hell i know at least 4 16 year olds off the top of my head that have played FF from 6 through 10, which is really quite an accomplishment considering those games aren't really their generation, so grow up KID.

What makes an RPG is gradual character progression and a combat system based on the stats of your character that progress, IMO. Whether the combat system works by selecting options in a menu, or choosing an appropriate loadout and emulating the fight in real time, it's still an RPG as long as the results are largely based on said progressed stats and the non-twitch decisions made by the player to use them.

at least that argument is more valid than the way he was saying it, but i still don't agree.
