Default What you think?

Do you like my sig? I cant say 100% that im the only person with this type of sig, but to tell you the truth i have never seen anybody with a vector sig made out of their real pic. Every single sig i see is always the same shit. Just another rectangle with some shit in it. BTW this vector i made of myself (in my sig) is my second vector i ever made. That was my second time using the pen tool and i guess im getting the hang of it.

Well basically i just want to kno what you guys think. Is it a good idea? Do you like the outcome? Either way im going to stick to these types of sigs because they're original and i dont feel like doing the same as everybody out there. I like it and i made a matching avatar. Looks good to me.

EDIT* oh and here is the before picture. Its a pretty old pic ( i think 1.5 years old) of me but yea, thats what i used. I changed the color of my shirt and the hat. I also left out the hair because i recently cut my hair off.

Nice job. You look older/different in your sig, but I guess looking older is a good thing since this is an old picture. Besides that inavoidable change, the outcome is very nice.

A litle revision on the right arm wouldn't hurt, the sleeve seems to fade away. I'd personally add smal wrinkles on the tops of your shoulders, too. That is unless you've tried it and it just doesn't look right.

I sometimes make a "crescant" of sorts that are a darker color along te edges of things like your hat or sleeve, you may wanna give it a try. (I don't use photoshop much, but since the pen tool is similar to a paper and pencil, I think my opinion is at least half valid)

Very good job on the face for your second time using the pen tool.

I give it an 8/10. I know with practice you'll be able to do even better, and like you've said, it's origional. (Although I will miss your old sig/avy)

I know what you mean about the shoulder part and the right sleeve. The thing is that with vectors like this, a lot of things dont look right. If you notice, the original pic has a lot of wrinkles and the vector doesnt. Thats because it just wasnt looking right with too many lines on the shirt. Also, i wanted to do the fading effects as well like you mentioned, but you cant get that effect like you would with a pencil. The closest i could get to a fading from dark areas to normal colored would be by doing it to the whole shirt. You cant really do it to a certain area because it just wouldnt blend in proplerly. Its hard to explain but i did try.

About the picture, it is old so i did look young in the picture compared to the sig. I made the sig to look like i do now. I now have a beard and mustache just like in the sig that is more noticeable. I think that picture was taken right before i turned 18, and i am soon to be 20 now. So yea i didnt try to make myself older, its just that the pic is old and i made the sig look like me now.

Well i really appreciate you giving your thoughts on this. Everybody just looks at it and doesnt say shit. Thanx.

Your welcome. I kinda had a feeling you took out wrinkles on purpose. I've done similar things messing around with illustrator. it looks great, the only thing I can think of is adding a black border around the entire image, ya know?

What do you mean? Like around the body? I cant add a border like you might think. I saved it with a transparent background so its not like its inside a frame or something.

Ive seen many vectors of people and them selves vectored. it all depends on what style of sig you like making. anyways you got the basics and some lighting and shadows and it will be complete.

Can you link me to a tutorial that teaches the shadows and lighting for this? I have seen people vector things like this, but i have never seen them use it as a sig like i did. I also have seen vectors like this but put into a sig like yours.

Well i dont know of any tutorials for this, but if you still the original image just draw the shadows like you did the fetures and remember to use different colours and opacity on the tone of the face.

I mean around the edge of the body, have a black line. Like when you're going over a drawing with ink, you just don't outline the drawing, and you just don't trace details. Understand now?
