I have noticed that there have been many times where I see more non-members on this site than regular members. I made a
thread asking why people don't join and one answer I got was that they didn't kno how to work the User Control Panel. This thread will help
anyone with
any questions about using the Control Panel.
Edit Signature: Your signature can be whatever you want it to be (as long as it isn't inappropriate). It is displayed under every post you make. In here you can put text, pictures, links, smilies, and gifs. To put pictures/ gifs, the simpliest way to do it is by hosting it on
imageshack. From there simply scroll down to where it says "Hotlink for forums (1)" and copy that link.
Then under the User CP here at T360F, go to Edit Signature, paste that link into the window. For text, simply type what ever you want in the window. If you want to change the font, color, size, or make it bold, italics, or underlined, highlight your text and use the control right above the window. When you are satisfied, click "Save Signature" at the bottom.
Edit Email & Password:This part is fairly easy. If you got a new e-mail address or you want a new password, come here. Simply enter your current password, then put in your new password or e-mail address, and click "Save Changes."
Edit Profile: Here, there are two main sub-sections: "Optional Information" and "Additional Information." First, Under Optional Information, is Custom User Title. This is the title that appears beneath your name on your posts. Check the 'Reset' box if you wish to use the default title for your usergroup and post count. Then you have the Date of Birth. Your date of birth and age are displayed in several places on the forum. Only the administrator will have access to your date of birth should you choose to hide it via the privacy option. Next is the Home Page URL. If you would like to let other visitors to this site know the URL of your own web site, enter it here. Then the Instant Messaging. You may enter your registered identity for the instant messaging networks if you would like other visitors to be able to contact you using that medium. All this looks like this:
The second sub-section is Additional Information.
All of this information is optional. The first part of this is your Biography. This is simply a few details about yourself. Second is the Location. This is where you currently live. Third is Interests. This is your hobbies, etc. Next is Occupation.Your job.
Fav 360 Game is after that. This is where you say your favorite Xbox 360 Game(s). Finally is the XBL Gamercard. Enter your Xbox Live Gamertag here to make your gamercard show with all your posts. Note: When you type your Gamertag it has to be
exact. When you are finished inputing all your information, click "Save Changes." All this looks like this:
Edit Options: This is just random options use can use while on T360F. There are 5 sub-sections here: Login & Privacy, Messaging & Notification, Thread Display Options, Date & Time Options, and Miscellaneous Options. The first thing under Login & Privacy is Use Invisible Mode. Invisible mode allows you to browse the forums without appearing in the 'Currently Active Users' lists. Second is Allow vCard Download. You may choose to allow other users to download a vCard containing your email address and username. If you want to keep your email address private, do not allow vCard downloads. This looks like this:
For Messaging & Notification, the first thing is Receive Email. From time to time, the administrators may want to send you email notices. If you do not want to receive these notices, disable this option. Second is Default Thread Subscription Mode. When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread. Third is Private Messaging. This forum features a private messaging system, which allows members to send messages to one another privately. If you do not want to send or receive private messages, you may disable the private messaging system. You may limit the receipt of private messages to just moderators and those on your buddy list. Other members who attempt to send messages to you will be told that you have disabled private messaging. The forum can send a message to your email address to inform you when someone sends you a private message. If you are browsing the forums when you receive a new private message, the system can pop-up a notification box informing you of the new message. This looks like this:
Thread Display Options is next. The first thing here is Visible Post Elements. You have the option to show or hide various elements of messages, which may be of use to users on slow internet connections, or who want to remove extraneous clutter from posts. Second is Thread Display Mode. Here you can choose the display mode for threads. Third is Number of Posts to Show Per Page. Use this option to set the number of posts to show in a thread before splitting the display into multiple pages. Fourth is Default Thread Age Cut Off. You may specify a time period from which to display threads. Threads older than the age you specify will not be shown. Next is Images In Posts. This forum automatically resizes images which are too large. You can change the maximum width and height an image should be before it resizes it automatically. This looks like this:
After that there is Date & Time Options. The first thing here is Time Zone. All timestamps displayed on the forums can be automatically corrected to show the correct time for your location in the world. In addition, you may set the appropriate option to allow for daylight savings time in your part of the world. Second is Start of the Week. Different parts of the world traditionally use a different day as the start of the week. This looks like this:
The final option here is Miscellaneous Options. The first thing is Message Editor Interface. When posting messages to the forums or other members, there are three interface types available to you. The simplest of these is a simple text box, while the last is a fully-fledged WYSIWYG editor, which allows you to format your text as you want it and see the results immediately.
Depending upon the capabilities of your web browser, you may not be able to use all of these options. If you experience problems when posting messages, try switching to a different interface type. Second is the Forum Skin. There is more than one skin in which you can view the forums. This looks like this:
Edit Avatar: This is where you can change your avatar. Avatars are small graphics that are displayed under your username whenever you post. You have the option of not using an avatar. Note: if you have a custom avatar selecting this option will delete it. To display an avatar you can either upload it from your computer or input the link to that image. This looks like this:
Edit Profile Picture: This is where you can change your profile picture. Profile pictures are small pictures of your self, that are displayed within your user profile. You can delete this profile picture if you want. To display a profile picture you can either upload it from your computer or input the link to that image.This looks like this:
