Newb: a good new member that the older members like. Doesn't spam, posts with intelligence, good grammar, and proper spelling.

N00b, nub,nublet,nubcake: Someone who annoys people or spams.

Active: A member who visits often a posts a fair bit.

Dead (member): A member who is no longer active.

Bump: To post in a topic that is not on the first page of the forum, or just a topic that is really old in general, that no one's posted in for a while. Try not to do this.

That's hawt: Common phrase meaning "that's cool", "that's awesome", or in it's occasional sarcastic use "I don't care" (it usually isn't used sarcastically.

Flame: To flame someone is to curse at them and insult them in other possible ways because they've done something stupid. For the most part, flaming is only given to people who post stupid or pointless threads. If you post with intelligence you'll be fine.

Administrator, admin: The people with the most control over this forum. They have the right to change anything.

Moderator, Mod: A person with moderate control over the forum. They have the power to delete threads, ban users, move threads, sticky threads, etc (see below for definitions).

Thread: a topic you post in. This is a thread, and if you post you will have submitted a post into my thread.

Post: The entry you submit in a thread. How many posts a person has is displayed below their location.

Tags: Tags used on a post or sig to include certain things. There are several kinds of tags:
and (you enter the URL of your site to make a link (note that this doesn't work on sigs)
[img] [/img]to make an image, put the url between these tags. You don't need url tags. To get a url you have to host your picture on a site such as www.imageshack.us, www.photobucket.com, www.tinypic.com, www.putfile.com, and several others you may find.
[color=] : Enter the color name after the = sign (no spaces) and enter the text you want to make a certain color between the tags
[font=] [/font] : Works just like color tags, only you put the font name.
is bol, is italic, is underlined.
creates a field to enter php code.

Post threads: Post threads are threads users make when they reach a milestone number of posts. I reccomend you do this every thousand posts, if at all, unless you want to be flamed. Post threads usually consist of a list of the person's favorite members or friends on the forum, occasionally with comments or ratings. Then it is customary for the other users to congratulate the user, and if they want to they can give the person gifts (images or reputation).

Birthday threads: When it is your birthday someone usually makes a thread for you if you are well known. If not, you are allowed to make one for yourself. In a birthday thread the maker announces the person's birthday on the first posts and everyone congratulates him (once again, sometimes with images or rep).

Year threads: If you have been here for a year you can make a year thread for yourself. Year threads usually include a history of the person, but sometimes just announce the member's accomplishment.

pwnd, pwned, pwnz0rd, etc. = owned. Someone originally probably slipped the o in owned, hence typing the now famous pwned.

1337 (Leet, Elite)

Definition: 1337, or leet, or elite, is commonly known as hacker language. It is a representation of letters in the English alphabet with numbers, symbols, or phonetically similar sounds. For example, "fear" might be written "ph34|2" where ph=f, 3=e, 4=a, and |2=r. However, leet is generally frowned upon, as it is hard to read and really confuses people.
