introduction section

the past couple of weeks there have been like 30 introduction threads. all the these threads turn into the biggest spam fests ever (i belive one went 9 or 10 page) these threads are getting retarded. we need a section where people post there intro/bio about themselves and then people can send fr's after the thread is made a mod should close the thread. this should stop some of the pointless spam that is going on

I agree, but I can see where those people are coming from, most of them are from H2F so they are moving from a certain group of friends to another, thus creating the introduction threads hoping to get a friend or two is what I'm guessing.

Not really sure if it's time for this yet... it's not like we get so much that the off topic section is flooded. If anything, we'll just make a dead section of the forums. When it's nessicary, we may make an introduction section, but right now the occassional intro thread doesn't hurt anybody.

I agree with Hitz. They aren't at such a volume atm to be a factor.
It's better imo, if people have the opportunity to create a thread, for as long as we can keep it that way. If they are just another name on a page, they may be missed. Definitely something to keep in mind for the future though.

Well how does an intro thread hurt anybody? As long as no one spams outside of that thread, I don't see any problems.

cant blame rthe forum for gettin a hard on

besides, i think there sould be a intro section as a subsection, btw, posts dont count there so spam all u want in that section

I honestly don't seee why we should be anal about spam in an introduction section. People can go ahead and have a friendly chat every once in a while, that won't hurt anybody. I'm not about to step in and tell people where and how to talk freely, because there's nothing wrong with people just socializing in an off topic section thread.

Hell neither do I. Like you said, it's not wrong for people to have a friendly conversation with eachother. And like Rico said, it'd give people the oppurtunity to make a thread and "feel good of their first post" in some sorta way.

Then why don't we just have the whole Completely Off-Topic subforum give you no post count, that way we wouldn't care as much as for it getting popular (no one will be gaining anything anyway).
