Xbox 360 troubleshooting help

Ok guys so I got my 360 tonight, and I clicked on "recover my old gamertag" - now it tells me its got to update for live, yes i click yes. It then says the update fails after trying to load, and I try again. The update seems to get a little bit farther everytime. I accually got to the second bar, but now it seems to be stuck on the first bar again, and not going back to my previous attempts lengths.

Any ideas?

Try going calling xbox support or go to www.xbox.com and go to xbox live trouble shoot

I have heard of problems with people getting updates on LIVE. Try to contact X-Box for help on it.
